I think the specification for DVI limits the bandwidth
so screenmodes much above 1600x1200 (UXGA) at 75 Hz
are not possible.

I agree, DVI is 1000x better than analogue.

I would have thought 1650x1050 @ 60 Hz should be in spec.
I wonder if this is the native res.

People should remember to turn the monitor on before you
power up your computer. Most GFX cards turn off DVI
output if they can't detect the monitor.
