Well.. I didn't tried the new stuff myself.

Here a few things you might wanna try:

Check with SnoopDOS what it tries to open when you select the prefsitem, maybe just something is missing and there is a poor error handling (wouldn't be the first time for jaca AFAIR ;) ). Make sure you have installed all requirements, see the manual/readme/whatever.

If that doesn't help, please send an mail to the author (or maybe post here) the full hits from the debug log. This might offer further information about the crash.
