    Hi,
I'm looking for a tool which can easily sync two dirs.

On linux, there's dirdiff (tcl/tk based), on windows, there's
totalcommander... is there anything similar working under MorphOS ?

You mean comparing directories? Magellan has this.

    * Foldersync worked "out of the box".

    * Rival required the use of snoopdos to locate the missing mui.classes.
    (thebar and betterstring..)
.. but it looks much more friendly ..

    * Last not least, I own Opus Magelan II, but I didn't find
a compare-function. Is this an internal command ?

I think Dopus Magellan II hasn't that kind of internal function. Anyway, folllowing our DoctorMorbiusFP precious help, I solved installing
    AleXCompare
and then creating a toolbar button that provide fastly comparing files and whole dirs.
The program compares files in two directories (or trees). That can be very useful, e.g. to examine in a backup, which files have been changed or rather are new. With cmp it is also possible, to compare two files and display the differences (hex-dump). With cmp and the device-handler (AmiNet:disk/misc/dev_hdl.lha) you can also compare disks/harddisks byte for byte.
