Well, well... Answers...
2 Katos1: Why? The project was started as part of Unmorphos and it's completely opensource...
2 magnetic: yes, my relatives have a very poor keyboard with very small keys, it was easy to mistype...
2 Robin: that time i was unable to connect to ftp://main.aminet.net. Well, may be next time, don't know when. Remember that i still can't exchange information with my work, this is forbidden. May be in future when i get more trust here...
2 Soundsquare and Katos1: No, i am not a member of MorphOS devteam and i think i'll never be there, it's impossible.
2 analogkid: Software-driven floppy on parallel port? Hm, interesting idea... But it would be quite another driver. BTW, a friend of mine has told me that some of his friends has written long time ago a program for PC which was able to read disks of any format, even non-MFM, using built-in PC controller. It was polling some bit to read raw bitstream from the drive. I hope we'll manage to get some info and/or source code. If it's possible with VIA8231 and doesn't depend on any legacy mode (which is not implemented in VIA) i'll implement it.
2 Piru: trackdisk.device name is inherited from AROS. However, this is not going to be exact copy of mfm.device. If there will be any interest it's possible to extend the driver to autodetect disk geometry (size and number of sectors per track) in order to be able to read for example ZX-Spectrum disks. On classic Amiga it was done using raw track read and it's not the best way IMHO.
