    Hi everyone,

I have been experiencing some weird "problem" lately (it started after
I begun trying to test the 3D hard). It happens either when I power
up the system (sometimes) or when I try to run a 3D app and I reboot.

    Two different things happen:

1st) The BPlan logo remains on screen, but OF boots and runs the
bootscript. The boot menu does not appear, but if I press a number
the computer boots into the corresponding OS. The Bplan logo
disappears as soon as the screen mode is changed (when linux changes
the textmode, or MorphOS show the nice butterfly with the booting
    image). Everything runs normal afterwards.

2nd) BPlan logo disappears, Radeon text appears, OF text appears,
boot menu appears, I choose MorphOS, Quark text appears with the
"turning bar" and HD works for some seconds. There is always a small
pause (no HD activity) before the boot image appears, but in this case
HD activity never restarts, and boot pic never appears.

Case 1 usually goes away after a HW reset. Case two only goes ago
after a long unplug (and sometimes not even), or a linux boot.

Under linux I never have any problem.

Sounds like something's showing some initialization problems, and I
suspect the GFX card... What do you think??

If you can hook up a null modem serial connection to another machine to see the debug output we could get a more accurate read on the problem.

I've seen the both happen. Here are my thoughts about when they happen.

    1) happens sometimes randomly after reboot. At least with my firmware version, it happens ALWAYS when I don't have PS2 keyboard connected (I have keyboard & mouse in USB and joystick in PS2, but that doesn't seem to "help")
So maybe that has something to do with keyboard not being recognized?

    2) happened with older Poseidon, if I had massstorage device (such as memory card in card reader) connected when booting.

Two keyboards, with or without KVM switch give the same result (I currently use the a Cherry PS/2 kbd connected directly since it causes less problems and I have the boing keys ;-)).

I agree about poseidon. It hangs up (badly) if I boot with any masstorage device connected.

I had the same stuff with the bplan logo getting stuck on screen and nothing else appears, but it boots.
I have this issue very randomly and that's almost impossible to try to find out about it as i noticed i had the problem in many different cases :

    - when i plug a new USB device, but not all the time
    - when i change or remove/add a PCI card, but not all the time
    - and sometimes for no reasons, but not all the time :-P

I have a Peg1 april2, and when I boot with a massstorage plugged, the MorphOS logo stays there for about 4 or 5 seconds, when usually it takes no longer than 2 secs to boot. It boots normaly, but takes more time.

My Peg2 never autoboots since I got that exchange board from bplan. So I always have to type in 'boot'. I wonder what's wrong here, but actually stopped caring.

Of course I did. Even reset it to false and back to true to see if that changes anything.
