My new Pegasos II came installed with a LifeView Flyvideo TV card and Amihlon 2.2 software and drivers. However when I try to configure the card I get several error messages when I try either an auto or manual install. If I select the LifeView Flyvideo card manually I can tune in a TV channel and the picture is OK but the sound is highly distorted and is drowned out by a loud hiss.

I tried re-istalling the Amithlon software using the installer from OS3.9 as I was informed that the native MorphOS installer is buggy? However the response was exactly the same after de-installing and re-installing the Amithlon software. :-? I apologise if this topic has been covered before.

There is no native Installer for MorphOS, and given the animosity some people have against installers, I doubt there ever will be one ;) Which is to bad, because *actually* I like Installer, although it need a major overhaul.

Why you didn't try Visionary? You can find it here: http://grex.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=14
You need V.15 or V0.22 and the SkinsTV package.

OK downloaded and installed Visionary. Vey clear interface but once the channels were tuned in it gave me very similar results to the Amithlon software. Reasonable picture quality with a very lound hiss and TV sound barely audible. Any ideas?

How is the Soundoutput of your TV-Card connected to the Peg? Maybe the cabel is faulty or the Card it self is it.

I connected the speakers directly to the output on the video card.

Since you're talking about it, I'll "abuse" this thread asking a question about visionary, hope you don't mind... ;-)

I have a Pinnacle PCTV (which works great on linux) but can't manage to tune the channels, are there some guides around or is it so easy there is no need for a manual (i.e. my card isn't supported)?

or, simply, how did you tune the channels?

Go to the Prefs in Visionary and autoscan the broadcast channels.

    ...so it's not supported... :-(

well, actually nothing happens, it starts scanning, the flickering lines change, but in the end no channel is found. I tried to enable the debug option (both tooltype and cli) but I got no output.

Then your card isn't supported. Or the revision of the Card is the wrong one.
Had this problem with my WinTV.
