    You're not a magician? I thought you were :-)

For the Freevo stuff you should try to email Peter Van den Abeele - he's the guy who built the Genesi entertainment unit and I know he applied some patches/hacks to make it fast..

    http://www.metadistribution.org/blog/

I've had KINO installed on my Debian Setup for some time, (though I just lost that partition )
:-o , and the peg2 G4 was never fast enough to do the realtime playback. I was able to get my DV Cam working nicely with the Peg2 firewire and was getting a nice playback. I installed it from Debian packages, so dont think its Alitvec optimized. It would be nice as this would enable a Free Imovie type functionality out of the Peg... I do seem to remember for some reason that GGS had it working and editing OK.

Well, OK Gandalf looking forward to the new CDs and thank you as always.

    Cheers, magnetic!

I'm sure there will be a problem with playing dv-files
(& even dvds & pve350-full-size recordings) as the
gatos-patched xorg seems to be broken somewhere...
I hope xorg-7.0 with gatos-stuff included will fix this problem... ?

    have a nice sunday!

Just want to mention that the networking didn't work out of the box with molk for me going through
my router and ADSL modem configured via DHCP. I ended up copying dhclient command from debian to
the boot volume and modifying the start-misc script taking out all the "ifconfig/route"
lines and replacing with "dhclient eth0". I still had to put a nameserver inside of MacOSX
though, I copied one out of my MOSNET dhclient.leases file and it's working great
now. Anyway I suggest you include the dhclient command in the default molk image since it is
better for those that can't get the ifconfig stuff working and need the dynamic setup
    dhclient offers. :)

Mem prob: Did you change the memory field in the molosx file?

Firewire should work right now. Havent tested it, but mol has support for fw as a scsi device. You must edit the mol file to show the device (as a scsi device)

    @magnetic:

ok, thanks for the firewire tip ;)

about the molrc.osx, if i set ram to 1024 for exemple, it display "can't allocate" at the end at the boot process and then reboot. i've tried to set 700mo and it happen the same (with 512 it works), so i guess the tux kernel used in molk does'nt see the 1gb.
with ubuntu, the 1gb are well recognized though.
