Who would be interesting by a program can launch your old AGA software on MorphOS without the actually version of Unix Amiga Emulator (UAE)

I think an AmigaBox will be a sort of UAE but who emulating the AmigaOS (as DosBox who emulating the Dos) consequently whe could launch a software as the following :

I will be 2 versions : AmigaBox3.1 and AmigaBox1.3

Cant think of a usefull program that requires

Use a script for lanuch UAE when you double-click on your adf's icons.

If you want use AGA software and spécialy DPaint do this:

STEP 1 : get e-UAE
STEP 2 : Put Dpaint.adf on the E-UAE dir
STEP 3 : writ the script below on to a file.
SETP 4 : double click your script.

If you want, you can run a workbench with AGA emulation succesfully with last E-UAE from FAB.

to run other programmes, you have just to edit this script and insert your ADF file name.

Great thread guys. Many of us are interestedin an improved UAE as well as tutorials or guides of any sort for configuring/installing euae on mos. I actually proposed a bounty for an advanced E-UAE for mos with JIT and other features and Evil Rich was interested, but apparently people didnt think it was a good bounty or something..

wonderful idea, improving E-UAE is a better direction then developping some kind of AmigaDosBOX from scratch.

I want a turbo "AMIGA" not a kind a of clone.
E-UAE is much slower than my 1260PPC.

Why is it impossible to add an "AGA-call's catcher" in MOS based upon the one of E-UAE ?

Is it hard way of doing polls : I vote: Yes..

If it's wotrhwhile trying to re-write Amiga emulator, instead of using existing UAE .. I wote: No.

First of all: DPaint runs on morphos natively already. Only when u play around with menues it trashes its image layer. Old ugly and hacky programming style is the cause of that. ;)


Second: with Fabs latest incarnation of E-UAE you can play pretty much all games in *very* decent speed and with overlay you almost have original feeling. I couldn't expect more from E-UAE and I'm pretty happy with it (as long SlamTilt and Pinball Dreams work.. nothing can cloud my mood here.. though i need to try ambermoon too ;)


And last but not least: we have enough old and ugly AmigaOS heritage in MorphOS already, no need to have old, ugly and braindead Amiga hardware heritage in the OS too (you do not really want to start hardware banging, non-multitasking compatible and hacky programmed games in a proper OS environment).

Sorry, not me. I don't recall any specific AGA programs, except "True Brilliance". A much better paint proggy than DPaint, IMHO. I have an AmigaOne Box with OS4u4 & Euae 0.8.28. With Petunia in OS4, a lot programs run now. I don't have DPaint to check out. I think there's tendancy of paint programs to fail becasue of RTG.

although this question should be directed to itix do you think that it would be complex to add Overlay support to PowerSDL so Fab doesn't have to do extra work in each E-UAE version?
