Debian is a very good linux distro and works out of the box. No fancy installer but very easy to install.
Download the latest netinstall iso here and boot your Pegasos with it. Do a basic install, you can install the software you need later with apt-get install in console or with Synaptic packetmanager in your favorite windows manager.
