    Hi,

    I'm trying to make a new skin for MOS. I've got a little problem with transparency. See this screenshot. The buttons in the screenshot are from the ImAZ skin, I'm gone make my own buttons.

    The only thing i've done so far are the screenbar and window decorations. To do list: button's, colors, Mui prefs and more.

    Hope you like it, suggestions are welcome :-D

    Cheers,
    Toto

    Looks cool man. Be nice to have some contrasting Silver/white buttons so its not overall to dark. Thanks

    What format are your skins in? for transparency they should be pngs.
    I think I state the obvious, but are you having trouble figurinig out how to add an alpha channel?

    what are you doing, exactly

    I'm using pngs, I made the skin in Photoshop. I guess I'm having trouble with alpha cannels then. Can you give me some pointers.

    Thanks,

    Thanks man, the white buttons klesterjr made do look nice with this skin. It's gone be a difficult to come up with something as good looking.

    Thanks, it really is a lot more work than I expected. Especially making the skin in different sizes. It's getting there, slowly but steady ;-)

    In the mean time I got myself a butterfly and came up with a name for this skin, Carbonix ;-)

    Here's a new screenshot.

    VERY nice! BTW, there is a switch for rounded corners on the window titlebars in SkinConfig.

    A hint to all skinmakers. It would be nice to have the skin in one or two other paletteflavours too. For example in my config dark grey is not an option, but the same skin in blue would suit just fine.

    Maybe someone should create a small tool for this? Basicly with the following concept:

    a) load skin
    b) preview and adjust palette by RGB-sliders
    c) save skin with new name

    "Window decorations" as you call them, must not have an alpha channel. You cannot define round window edges by making the corners of your window title bar graphics transparent in Photoshop.

    In MorphOS 1.4.x and below, rounded window corners are defined in the skin configuration file. And while I am at it, window corners cannot be as round as in your screenshot either.

    I've given up on round corners and alpha channels for now. You can download the first release here. And look
    here for a screenshot. The archive also contains a mui preference file.

    @hooligan
    You beat me to it ;-) I allready planned different colors for my theme, it's very easy in Photoshop with Image Variations. That's how I made the active windows.

    @klesterjr
    Do you mind if I use the buttons from your ImAz skin? They really look good.

    I'm working on the system colors and MUI prefs (see screenshot below). Once that is finished I'm gone release a complete package. If everything goes right it will be in a couple of days.

    @magnetic
    Thanks. I'm really having fun making this skin.

    I've been experimenting with the red one and you can see a preview here and here (blue).

    You can download the first release here.

    It's still not finished, but will do for now. There are 12 different skins in this release. Two versions of each color, one with standard system colors and one with matching system colors (like on the screenshots in previous post). All skins have matching MUI prefs, the CarnonixSTD prefs file can be used with the standard system color skins. Or try Carbonix.prefs wich is a bit darker.

    Be carefull with the magenta and green skin, you'll only hurt your eyes! You are warned ;-)
