The new ODW's are advertised with Linux ..and not so much with MorphOs... is there a reason?
I see that Linux has many aplications which is good , as long as they have graphic apps as good or better then MorphOs or Amiga..Im using vague terms here because I know little of either Os.. So will Linux satisfy an X amiga graphics user?

MorphOS broke loose from Genesi on November 15th, 2004.
They wanted independence - apparently - and they got it.

There are some really good graphics programms for Linux, the Gimp and Cinepaint. I only have used these two but there are many more paint programms.

And if you're interrested in 3D graphics, check Blender.

It satisfied me! GIMP gets some getting used to, but once you get the philosophy it makes sense and is quite powerful. Blender is simply the most intuitive 3D application I have ever touched.

    @Arron
Thank you AAron ...but after reading the Linux solution for the Pegasos ... it scary for a novice ..who has only worked with out of the "Computer Box" Os's...
If I again decide to purchase a Pegasos ...I'll wait until they decide what OS to ship that works ..right now it's the MorphOs, I think?
The Linux one's seem to need "this or that" and would need a person with some debugging skills...and all Im looking for is a computer that is a cut above the Amiga with the OS that works ...Im an end-user, not a computer geek...
So the purchase is back on the shelve...but I really like the Pegasos computer idea.

    Pearly..

Pearly, The Pegasos is sold with Morphos and different version of Linux. When booting you can choose wich OS you want to run.
"they decide" to sell it with as much OS as possible. It is a multiOS platform :)

yes you can choose which OS to boot...but according to just what I read on this forum , only MoS will run. I am reading about multiple incidents with Linux's...And the Linux groups I definitely need... being a novice and only a end-user this is a questionable incident. If im wrong here I'll be the first in line at a Peg dealer.

    @ Pearly

Installing Debian or YellowDog Linux is really easy on Pegasos. Even I could get these distributions to run on my Pegasos and I have no clue from Linux. I always used AmigaOS before. Now I have MorphOS as main OS and a Debian Linux if its needed.
Mac mini, PowerPC G4 1.5 GHz, ATI Radeon 9200 64 MB, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB HDD, MorphOS 3.18

Where did you read that? I'm running Gentoo on my PegII and it is rock stable. I'm even running an experimental kernel.

If you want to read about Linux on the Peg, point your browser at PPCZone.
