    Hi folks,

i've finally got the Peg1 up and running again and have decided to try
    to upgrade to MOS 1.4.5.

Trouble is, I haven't got a clue where to start.

i have the two files, "MorphosBoot_1_4_5.iso.gz" and "ungzip," that I
    downloaded awhile back.

Can someone tell me what to do next?

    cheers

Use ungzip to extract the iso from the "MorphosBoot_1_4_5.iso.gz" file. Burn the extracted iso on a cd. Put the cd in the drive and reboot. Read the readme and use the installer. Enjoy MorphOS 1.4.5 :-)

    How do I use ungzip?
Double clicking on it opens a window full of, aherm, "stuff". :-)

If you have Voodoo-X, it should probably be able to unarchive .gz archives (the easiest way I can think of)

    If not, either:
1)Install Voodoo-X and libraries it needs (I think it's part of "essentials package" available on morphzone) - with that you can unarchive most archives out there (except the newer rar archives)
2)Open Newshell (from Ambient menu), write "ungzip MorphosBoot_1_4_5.iso.gz" (you might need to change to the directory where you saved the files, save both to RAM: and that should work straight away)

Then open MakeCD, add track and select the .iso file as image.

    @Jupp3:

I tried 2) but got 'volume RAM disk full' so I tried:
    "ungzip MorphosBoot_1_4_5.iso.gz Work:"

thinking it would unarchive to Work: but still got 'ram disk full'

    What am i typing wrong?

    Sorry for my ignorance.

well, apart from it being amazing that your ram is full so quickly, the remedy is easy:

    1. copy that .iso.gz to your hd (assuming root)
    2. open a cli/shell
    3. type the following
    4. ungzip MorphOSBoot_1_4_5.iso.gz
    5. hit enter
    6. use your favourite cd burning util to burn the iso
    7. the iso will be in the place you copied it and unpacked it
    8. that's root in this example

That's about as clear I can put it ;)

Thanks for the help. Installed and working but I seem to have lost USB
    support.

    Is that normal?
