backgrounds icons and prefs for the weekend

    Just for fun, over the weekend, why not take a few minutes to upload a background image, a prefs file, a mui prefs file, or your favorite home-made icon to this forum?

    It may be a little strange, but I'm sure everyone has some kind of small image they use as a background for an app, or a pattern. There are prefs files, etc. just hit the old lha routine and upload a file to the forum. Who knows, you may give someone else an idea for a bigger project.

    Oh yeah, I uploaded my own little "April" background. The transparancy doesn't work, but hey--it's what I use.

    Well, now that you mention it...
    I was currently doing various Emulator Icons.
    Actually they where not ment to be relased (I am not that good in Icon making) but hey, you asked for it ;-) Should I really attach it here? Ok, I do ;-)

    Hey thanks klesterjr! Now, if we can only convince someone with a decent Scalos setup to upload their .prefs file. The default prefs are, well, rather empty.

    Hmm.. who did that tool for the icon-switching tool under mos/ambient?

    ---Aaah, CopyIcon. ;-)

    Great Iniative Targhan

    I would love to get some of these people's MUI configs which look very impressive. (Especially someone like Jacek's)

    I've written an installer script that installs the Def & Prefs icons (the most tedious part).

    It uses CopyIcon44 to replace ONLY the image data (it doesn't touch tooltypes, icon positions, etc.)

    So, if the directory structure on MorphOS is the same (Sys:Prefs & Sys:Prefs/Env-Archive/Sys) AND CopyIcon44 (from Aminet) works on MorphOS, then it'll save you a bunch of time!

    Back up first, anyway! ;-)

    You can get it HERE.

    P.S. Acill uses my icons with Ambient and it looks just fine -- you don't HAVE to use Scalos (or am I missing something?)

    no wallpaper, no icon (well some are included, even new ones ;-) ).

    It's some kind of funky mp3 player plugin I did some time ago because I was bored. Nothing special.. just for the fun... and say hello to jaca, he's to blame. ;-)

    @magnetic

    well, sometimes, and only sometimes, the standard community fights lose their edge, so it becomes time to move on to something else to fight over :-P No, seriously, thanks. I just wanted to have a little fun.

    Now, for something really different. I've attached a crazy, it was never meant for this, kind of psuedo application. A password protection system for files/apps that is both cheezy and effective. It's cheezy because your password does not echo dots in the string gadget. I whipped it up in installer, so you know for a fact it wasn't meant for this kind of job. Furthermore, it's kind of aggrivating to get set up, since I only really half completed it last year during some off-time. Still, if one is willing to type in a few things from a shell, this little thing helps keep your teenager from hitting up porn-r-us.com :-P

    (why installer? it has string gadgets, can get to dos commands, has a direct link to both the ENV and to info attributes. Just remember that it can ONLY protect files that have an associated .info file!!!)

    @klesterjr

    They work and look just fine on a regular Ambient as well. See the attached picture.

    (sorry for deleting the earlier post, but it seems as if the png image was a little to large for my own tastes in a forum)

    Hi guys, this is my last background made with VirtualLight, a wonderful renderer that I hope Stèphane Marty will port to MorphOS, but I thik it's very hard, 'cause he use Microsoft Visual C. :-(
