I have the following problem:

I`am a newbie to linux and want to install
YellowDog on a Pegasos1. The install-instructions
found on the web are written for people,
who already have a working Linux on their
Peg, but I have only some boot images from
Debian. These come with no bzip2 packer to
unpack the YDL4 file). My questions:

-can I mount a AmigaFFS partition in a
shell of the small Debian image? I`ve tried
it with mount -t affs (or asfs) /dev/hdxx /target ,
but it doesnt work.

-can someone give me a bzip2 executable for
this small Debian image, that I can unpack
the bz2-compressed YellowDog-Image on the
Linux-native partition?

No one at ppczone.org could give me a useful reply...

The YDL 4 is made for Pegasos II, I believe it might be little tricky to install that on a Pegasos 1.

However the Image Installer v2 DVD supports the Pegasos 1.

I know that the Installer supports Pegasos I, but the link
to download the installer is dead. Or is there another source
to get it? Would be useful for future....

Yes, I have already this Image. And here is a guide
to install this Image on a Pegasos 1.

But I dont have the
ImageInstaller_SE CD.....

and with the command `tar -x YDL4_Pegasos.tar.bz2` nothing
happens.....

Only the -t option gives strange output.
