Anyone know what the status of Pixel32 is? Will there be a public demo available soon?

afaik only thing preventing release is some bug in fpc, which is actually fixed but not commited yet to cvs due to some technical issue.

I had it a go. I did managed to put something up, it's not so bad effort. Jus needs lots of work before it comes usable. Lacks lots of important elements plus the fact that it's in german language doesn't help much :-)

Why would you need one? It runs full speed under emulation already. I doubt anyone can create so complex models with Cycas that it gets too slow.

As a sidenote, Cycas eats a couple megabytes of memory, while at work AutoCAD2004 eats 60mb+ of memory for simple DWG's :-)

I'm the one who should be blamed. Delay of Pixel32/MOS is my fault. I changed employer a month ago and since then time for MOS programming reduced to zero. (And there were a few troubles with my FPC CVS access, so i couldn't commit my fixes yet.)

I hope to find time very soon to release a new version of FPC, which will fix the problems reported by Pavel. That will allow him a to release a new Pixel32/MOS.

THANKS very much for your answer to this subject so all of us who are waiting impatently for Pixel32 know why the release is delayed.

Not as I know about. But there is newer versions for Linux and Windows I can see, so... just a matter of time ? ;-)

Teasers... don't you all just love 'em? :-D
Jokes aside, nice work Chain-Q. Hopefully you'll have again more time when your situation at your new employer will be "stabilized" - but anyway the most important thing is to enjoy what you're doing. ;-)

    Kind regards,

I tried it too, it looks fantastic! It locks my system up when I try
to open a file. I get the menu to show my partitions and thats as far
as it goes. I want to buy it after its more stable for sure though.
    Its just so nice looking.

    Hi

You need powersdl.library, which you can find at www.lehtoranta.net (Note; for MorphOS)

As for loading files, its possible to load files from within the directory the program exist in, it seems the function browsing other directories is broken.

    Thanks Gunne,
but the powersdl didn't solve it. Here the error script:
    Init
Error: Access denied while trying to write the log file.

    SystemInit.
    Load_INI_configuration.
    INI: OpenFile ".///morph.ini"
    INI: OpenFile "/etc/pixel.ini"
    INI: OpenFile "/morph.ini"

    - /etc/pixel.ini

    - /etc/pixel.ini

A demo version of Pixel32 is now available. You can test the software for 30 days. Afterwards you have to register it (currently 30EUR per license). More information can be found here:

    @ ossian 1961:

Did you created an icon for this program?
I did it and since I puted an icon named pixel.info on the directory,
I had the same error message like you.
Then I delated the icon and the program loads normaly.

    Hi serge

I have not made any assign. I just created a directory named Pictures within the Pixel32 directory and put some pictures into there. Then when pushing the load file symbol (or double clicking somewhere within the empty pixel32 area) the load file requester shows up with this directory present containing files within it.

Why I did this was because if trying to change directory in the file requester, the file requester did change (with a left column present) to contain also other directories and the program just did freeze, so its something thats broken there.

If you get requests for any assign my suggestion is just to click the cancel button.

    Edit:

Btw, I also made a small start-script, named it Start-Pixel contaning just the text; Run >nil: Pixel

Then copied a icon, made it project icon, and set Default tool to IconX

This way its just to double click this icon on Ambient and pixel will start with output going to nil:

A usually easy way to launch cli-commands from the Ambient desktop.

There is an error console within Pixel where you can display this messages anyway if you want.

However, the software still need some work is my feelings, but looks very promising.

    Gunne
