    Hi folks. I've jsut started trying to use my Pegasos agaain, after my
    unvalidate partition error. It's almost back to normal.
    One of the things that's still not working is Pro Station audio.
    When I try to start it, it loads, displays a message saying 'output
    driver not responding' then exits.

    In the tooltypes, Output Driver = AHIOUT and snoopium shows 'open -
    Drivers/AHIinOut - Read - OK, although a whole bunch of other stuff
    fails.

    Any ideas how to get it running again?

    psa need exclusive "lowlevel" access to ahi, but in your case ahi is
    already busy

    @roschmyr:

    I tried that but no joy.

    @Jah:

    I don't think anything else is running. I'm trying to start PSA
    directly after booting.

    Aha - my list under 'music unit' only goes as far as 'Pegasos Hifi 8
    bit stereo++'. There's no 'Unit 0 hifi 16 bit stereo++'.

    I can click the tab next to music unit and select unit 0 there. It's
    set to Pegasos Hifi 16 bit stereo++.

    you must have the file "DEVICE" in
    Mossys:devs/audiomodes, if not
    download the latest ahi-archive from here

    I would like to know if its possible to change PSA screenmodes? I keep on getting 8bit 1024 x 499 as maximum screen.

    No nothing over 8 bit screen modes is possible with the MorphOS version of PSA.

    You can have a look at this screenshots:
    http://www.rmsvideo.ch/public_rms/psa_mos_screenselector.jpg

    http://www.rmsvideo.ch/public_rms/psa_mos.jpg

    I'm a registered user of PSA for AmigaOS/68k which I tried to use under MorphOS and here all created screenmodes are available although the colors are still not ok, as e.g. the timecode isn't clearly readable.

    Here are the screenshots of the AmigaOS 68k version running under MorphOS:

    IMHO this should realy be corrected as PSA is VERY HIGH QUALITY AUDIO SOFTWARE and AFAIK the only one of this kind for MorphOS.

    It would really be GREAT if this could be corrected at least for the next MorphOS release! PLEASE!

    MorphOS Team: thank you in advance for considering to correct this.

    Regards

    @Roschmyr:

    I downloaded AHI and installed 'DEVICE' in
    System:Morphos/devs/audiomodes/
    but still it exits citing output driver not responding.

    Should it also be in System:Devs ?

    (Why are there two Devs drawers anyway?)

    @Christoph:

    I had problems reading the timecode on MOS version until I swapped my
    Radeon 8500 and replaced it with a Voodoo 3. Now I can (well could -
    now it won't load at all :-() see the time
    code.

    BTW, have you tried the demo of HD-Rec?
    It's a very nice piece of software which has some of the features of
    PSA but also has a Bars & Pipes style sequencer and can record and
    playback at the same time, something PSA cannot do, AFAIK.

    From https://morph.zone/modules/xoopsfaq/index.php?cat_id=7#38
    Why is there a seperate "MOSSYS:" from "SYS:" ?
    In short, mossys: is for MorphOS specific system files (libraries, datatypes, etc), and SYS: should be used for the 68k counterparts and user installed system extensions. If two versions of the same thing exists, then the version in "MOSSYS:" will supercede "SYS:". This is useful for debugging and upgrading. If a new version of MorphOS will be released then you have only to replace "MOSSYS:" and don't need to change any of your own installed files.

    Note: If you have a need to downgrade something in "MOSSYS:" to a 68k version, simply rename the file in "MOSSYS:" and place the new/old file in "SYS:".

    Thanks for your comment. In fact I know this problem seems to come from the Radeon driver as I use the 9000 & 9200 and this problem was already addressed by me a year ago or so to Nicolas Sallin at Genesi.

    I suppose that it cant be so difficult to fix this problem PSA has on Radeon's as I am shure not the only Radeon owner and PSA user.

    Thanks also for the HD-Rec suggestion, I will have a look at that.

    Regards

    @Christoph:

    If you download it now, it appears that Thilo has just released a
    'lite' version of HD-Rec, which hopefully means you'll be able to save
    more than twice.

    PS. Still getting 'Output Driver not responding' from PSA. HD-Rec
    starts OK.
