Try VoodooX (works on (allmost) all archive-formats).

Does it really matter, as it's only interface?

But sadly, not all of the decompression libraries it uses are available MOS native...

But I wouldn't call it "too slow" in any way - the only problem is it can't unarchive new RAR archives.

VoodooX can do zip files - i've tried. works fine. while i generally use magellan, sometimes when i'm having a few problems with that method, i try VoodooX.

and it's a nice interface. yeah, very pointy, very clicky! :-P

VoodooX is only an unarchive GUI, right? If you want a GUI für LHA,LZX,ZIP and others which does archiving and unarchiving try MiraWirArc from Aminet. Its not as nice as VoodooX and I dont know if it supports drag & drop, but its far better than shell.

And no, its not MOS native, but who cares... its only a front-end, the CPU hungy stuff is done by the packers which you can use in MOS native versions if available.

    Hello,

There is also another tool to pack/unpack. It is X-Arc, it was released by Vapor in 1999. But it is now to old, his gui is to old and it does not offer a lot of packing methods, the choices are limited for actual use. Could it be possible to rewrite it ppc native with a gui uptodate and more efficiency in packing methods ?

the best interface is muicon, no? ;)

start MUICON and type for extracting:
    lha x blah.lha ram:

    and for archiving:
    lha a -r blah.lha blahdir

whats so difficult with that? :)

if you're too lazy to unarchive yourself I would suggest to use voodoo-x and xad. (also supports a lot other archivers).

Have anyone seen Peperoni working!? It's as simple as it can go... and quite powerfull too! It uses app icons, and it's a charm to use, using native ppc morphos apps (lha, arc, zip,...) it can be as fast as if it was indeed native as Peperoni itself is nothing more then a front end to those compressors... meaning, it's not MorphOS native, but quite! :-D
