    :-o :-)

Blastware.org is a new website describing a community effort to create an OpenSolaris Distro. Looks like OpenSolaris will come to a Pegasos near you!

I've always been for having some kind of Solaris on the Pegasos, and the only thing that could possibly tickle me MORE would be a port of IBM's AIX. Solaris (and AIX, even in an open source form) are very marketable OS's for businesses.

Think about the developers who have to share dev time on an RS4000 or the Sun machine. Development companies alone could operate much more effectively. (I think this is especially attractive for the AIX development, but it should apply to Solaris developers as well).

Wonder if Solaris will be able to be run on the Peg1? :) Think maybe I need to save my money for a Peg2 so I can keep up. Sure liked how that ODW looked that AmigaZuex received. :-)

The OpenSolaris Blastwave team got them too. Here is one Gallery:

With guys like Cyril working on this we may have a few surprises sooner than expected. However, remember this is still *not* officially supported by Sun. We are keeping our fingers crossed and as they do have the sources...;-)

ComputerWorld has a good article on OpenSolaris HERE featuring Dennis Clarke of blastwave and even a nice mention of Genesi.

I have been reading these blogs, but today's is short and sweet:
    http://bbrv.blogspot.com
It is clear bbrv understand what Sun is trying to do and what we are hoping to support.
I have to say for a little company Genesi is making some big waves.
What I would like to figure out if there is a tie in to MorphOS somewhere.
    Okay, back to work!
