    I want to use my Pegasos through internet from a different place and I'm looking for solutions. The only thing I found was the AmiVNC server, it works, but it is useless: very-very-very-very slow, displays bad colors, repeats every key given more than 100, "drag" doesn't work, etc. (I've tried the 060 version with -a parameter, and viewed the result from a local win-pc with RealVNC.) So any other idea? :-?

    Hi!

    Well, I'm trying to do the same,... vnc seem to be low, even on Linux
    and windaube... So, surfing near amigaenreseau.free.fr, I find
    SSL/OpenSSH... and I know this solution is quite quick on Linux, but
    it needs to install GeekGadgets... and I perhaps have a "bad RTFM",
    but I never arrive to have an operational GG!
    :{
    One of my targets is to have a Mac G4 under Linux in a window on
    Ambient... ;) For now it's a local Linux network...

    Can't say more nowadays...:(

    Hi! YEAHHHH!

    That rocks!!!!
    GeekGadgets...seems...OK
    You had to go on "amigaenreseau.free.fr" (in french..), in the left
    menu, find client/ssh, and in the page, you've got the download links
    for ssl and openssh...

    For now it's tested in shell mode... perhaps this nigh in window...

    Good evening!

    If you are looking for a VNC client (with which you'll be able to see your MAC's desktop in a window on MOS), there are two that are working pretty well for me.

    MorphVNC and vva.

    MorphVNC only works on its own screen and vva can do both windowed and own screen modes.

    As for a VNC Server, except AmiVNC, there's no other. I've heard that 2 people were working on a VNC Server, but I guess there's nothing official yet.

    Bye,
    Fred

    @Elric

    I think SSH is not the best solution for AmigaOS (and clones). I've written almost the same, as a telnet in php (you can log in with password then can give commands like 'status' and 'break' to the computer), but AmigaOS is a GUI-oriented OS, so you can't do much in a shell.

    For the other question: I use both remote destop viewers (VNC and RDesktop), ant they are working very nice, without any problem. All you have to do is install a VNC server on MacOS (perhaps it's not too complicated, AFAIK it has a POSIX subsystem).
