ok some of you may have heard of QEMU alows you to run operating systems through emulation on your computer...anywas i am not posting to explain it.....but to pose a question. Qemu can emulate a PPC processor so it bring this question to mind, can one run MorphOS from a windows or linux PC box running Qemu?

and....well i wouldnt be poundsmack if i didnt put this in too.....we should have Qemu on MOS! it is sooo much faster than bochs and runs every os bochs can but better.......so ya...couldn;'t resist..... :-D

For me it would be enough to use QEMU for emulating an X86 to run Win2000 or XP on it, but MacOS would be good aswell. It would be better to use then MOL, when there would be a MOS-Port.

Qemu is not working like that.
You can execute qemu to run a x86 binary.

For example if you are running linux on the Pegasos you can use qemu to run x86 linux binaries.
With the help of wine you can run Windows applications.
I did it and it worked fine but slowly.

What you are looking for is something like pearppc.
I don't know how hard it would be to have Morphos working in PearPPC. I don't know if having Morphos ported to pearppc is a possible plan for Genesi.

QEmu is supposed to emulate a full PPC system as well.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find a recent build (don't have and don't want to spend time building it) based on 0.6.0 and 0.5.x will just crash, even with PPC Linux kernel...

If anyone got 0.6 (Win) build of the ppc-system, I'm interested ;)

Ok I'm wrong: "The QEMU System emulator simulates a complete PC. "

But when i used it I remember using it only as a x86 to ppc binary emu, I have never ran another operating system on it so I thought it was not a PC emulator.

Now if it can emulate a full MAC and not loose speed doing PPC->PPC conversion we could possibly use it on MorphOS to run OSX.
Did anyone looked at the sources ?
I guess it may not be that easy :-?

A little offtopic, but during reading the qemu-ppc site
    http://jocelyn.mayer.free.fr/qemu-ppc/
I found at the bottom some screenshots in .tiff format.
I tried SView IV,fxScan and fxPaint but only got rubbish ... is there
a working tiff-viewer for this files (for MOS) ?
