as sun microsystems is getting closer and closer to posibly releaseing java as open source this thought crosses my mind. If sun open sources java are there any plans for a MOS native java port? this would be a big step for teh platform, as there are a lot of great java apps out there. what do ya think BBRV?

I thought it was open? What part of it is closed? IF MS has its own version how did they get it, and all the free compilers out are they not open as well?

Java wasn't open source??
What was it why Microsoft had to abandon its Microsoft Virtual Machine?
