Hope you won't mind posting here previews of my MorphOS skin in the making, and asking various questions as I bump into problems. :-) So far I have 2 different sketches, these will serve as base for making the final skin.

    skinpreview.png

The initial question is: which one is better? Or rather, which one should I convert first into a skin?

I like both aswell. But in the first one you should change the buttons to be more intuitiv and the middle did not fit with rest off the skin and the second Skin is ok!

Very cool looking. Both are nice, but as many others have said the bottom one would be nice to have first. Keep us updated please!

Bottom one would look cool together with your Frogger skin. I hope both will appear someday =)

The first one would look nice with my alu desktop case ;-)
And the 'frogger' skin is a must for the frogger screen :-)

So I fear you have to convert both :-D

It will be the first one then. Here are the active/inactive states, and the screen titlebar.

    skinpreview2.png

I will test how the sliced version behaves in the weekend, if it's all right I'll post a screenshot soon. Note that the buttons will have either color codes or small pictures indicating their function (and ruin their look as well :-))

Colour codes are not really an option if you consider how many window gadgets can be added by MUI. You would need way too many colour codes which eventually noone would be able to differ between.

Here is a preview of how it behaves as an actual skin so far:

    preview

There are still some smaller glitches, and there are still parts from the Sky and Bluechrome skins, but in overall it's better than I expected for a first run.

Colors would be indeed numerous with MUI, so either I'll have to drop the idea completely or come up with something smart, or mixing colour codes with pictures. I'm still undecided, I plan to use different colors for close, depth and zoom, the rest - well, dunno. I'll see.

Even the background seen on the preview is still unfinished. :-)

You should put more space (especialy in right side) where title text ends and next part of the skin starts. Oh, and that grey is to light, differs to much from the rest of the skin. That title pattern looks like it starts to high or goes to low. That was first impression. Keep it up, it may become one hell of the skin (details details =)

Yes, I have noticed that. That's what "live" test is for, small glitches pop up from thin air :-)

I don't intend to make it that much different, a small curve on the top and bottom of it is all I plan to change it.

I'm not sure what that means :-)

Started working on an appropriate MUI setting for the skin, it looks like this so far:

    mui preview

Now... Where that bluish color comes from? Is it in the MUI settings or in the skin description? Couldn't find it.

    warface,

The blue color is coming from the definition for SYSTEMPEN 0 in the
    skinconfig file.

Your bars that are right to the title text need some finetuning. I can't figure it out: are they higher than should be or are they to small :-?

    A new preview:

    preview

Slight changes here and there (the buttons are now transparent RGBA images, so the corners are visible (there has been a slight change made to them, and even the buttons are closer), a few pixel change in the window titles, the resize button in the lower right corner and the screen depth gadget is different as well, just as the background image) - I had little time to work on the skin, but it's definitely taking shape. :-)

The most important change is the shape of the arrows. I'll soon replace the custom MUI arrows with those images as well.

Fantastic! Interface design is a challenge. You have a nice aesthetic.
