    Hi everyone

I've got a spare Pegasos 1, pre-April, but it works pretty well, I
never had too much trouble beyond the occasional IDE lockup. Anyhow,
I'd like to use it as an FTP server for here in the house-you
know, stick all the mp3s and stuff on its 40GB HDD. I'm wondering
what software I can use to do this. I don't trust ATC as I've had
numerous problems with it (I think related to its usage of various and
sundry MUI classes which aren't part of MOS but not sure) so is there
any other, preferrably MOS native as opposed to 68k, FTP server
softwares that would be up to the task?

This server won't be seen by the world at large, its just for home use
so it needn't be real heavy duty. :-)

    rcftpd by robin cloutman.

atm its 68k but that doesnt mean anything - its fast and great and available at: rcftpd

The only problem ive found is that with external users leeching large files (seems ok with home-ethernet leeching) the ide tends to lock up if you dont limit the cps. im experimenting atm but with 2000 cps max i dont get the problem (will keep raising that till it is a problem, then drop it back one! :)

a MOS version will appear at somepoint as Robin now has a PegII.

    @Tronman:

You should give a try for RCFTPd. It is going to be better and better (I've seen it's coming a totally rewrited 3.x version). (But ATM I don't use it, because it's very unstable at me.)

For the other question: ATC (AmiTradeCenter) is a FTP CLIENT. The newest version is very unstable on MOS, but the prevorius (1.1181) version works fine (except that it writes out a lot of crazy things instead of the real size of large HDs/files).

Certainly Louise has ported some ftp servers to MorphOS.
AmiTCP has included one. I hope in the next MorphOS release there will be a native AmiTCP included.

    Hello !

I advice you to setup your FTP server under Linux and to disable any
kind on DMA on non-april ArticiaS based computer.

    Bye
    MorphOS Rulez !
