    Here the trouble.
I have downloaded 2 weeks ago from core.makecd the latest release
of the program and since then I have burned smoothly and fast some
cds with my combo CD/RW- DVD LG drive (of course with the
limitation of 10 traks of the demo version).
It was all so easy, nice and fast that I cuoldn't belive it!
So, I was tempted to get the registerd version, even if there are some
new native MOS proggies at the horizon...
But sadly now, since yesterday, when I try to burn a CD I get
this f...ing error message, after the 1st trak written by the burner:

    Track was not completely written.
Target drive CDR_SCSI3_ATAPI: CD-R track write failed
    Cmd WRITE_12=>CANNT_READ/WRITE_MEDIUM,UNKNOW_FORMAT

What make me crazy is that yesterday all worked OK and now... ;-(
I have tried to reinstall the program(I assure you it's the original
from the www site, I know that the fake version has problem)
, disable wbstartup, starting from original MOS Cd but NOTHING,
I get always this #### error!
I have made no changes to my Peggy, nor I have installed new
programs, so what's the trouble? Why yesterday MAKECD ran fine
and now nothing seems to work?
Please, someone help me, aargh, I'm getting mad!

Did you use the same media ? Not every writer likes every CD-R !

By the way, did you also install makecdromfs.module V45.12?

I think I had problems on my A1200 when I had newer MakeCD, but makecdromfs.module was too old...

    MakeCD works here just fine.

By the way, you can't burn in DAO mode on unregistered version (or you can, but only in test mode)

Well, I have registered, but lost registration information due to repartitioning I did... Burned then a CD-RW a few times as I usually do, to transfer some stuff to my laptop... Couldn't get it working at all...

THEN I realized, that I had been burning in DAO (as I usually do) and becouse MakeCD wasn't registered, it burned the disc every time in test mode :-)

Well, funally entered registration key again, after finding the package after mooving to new home...

Thanx to all 4 your suggestions, but the things aren't changed ;-(
Yes, I have also installed the latest cdromfs.module from the site, and yes, I'm using the same type of media since day 1.
I've also noticed that if I burn only 1 track of every length I want(also as big as the CD), all works ok. The error reported in my first post seems to appear only when the program is writing the track after the 1st...
But what make me very confused it's the fact that the proggy has worked fine for about 2 weeks!
    Any other suggestions????
    Ciao!

    Hi maurensen,

    - 2 weeks ago you downloaded the latest version from the site and played with it without problems.

    - Now you've got the registered version.

    A few questions:

    - Did you install this version onto the harddrive? Or have you only registered your already working version?
    - Did you register before "yesterday" (when the problems started).

Reason of questioning is the different modules for recognising the drives. I bought the registered version, but that one was older than the version on the net.

    Bye,

    @Spider
Not, there was a misunderstanding due to my not so very good english :-)
I never had the registered version. The demo version stops to work after 2 weeks without an apparent reason because in these days I haven't upgraded my Pegasos hw or sw, so I cannot guess what I have made to stop MakeCD working ;-(
May I be the first MOS user infected by a virus? :-)
    Ciao.

    Hi maurensen,

Sorry, my mistake, I misread your first post :-)

I assume you've already de-installed, resetted your computer and re-installed MakeCD again?

As you pointed out in your second post, you have these problems if you try to burn more than 1 track?

    Did you try the following:

Burn track 1, don't close the session!
Close MakeCD and start it again.
Select your track 2 and burn that in the still open session.

You know for sure your writer is still working properly?

    Bye,

I am using a LG cdrw with no problems.
Maybe the drive is the problem?
or try different media as suggested. :)

Thanx to Spider that made me doubt about my brand new LG drive!
Lukily I have a friend that works in a computer shop and kindly
give me a new Samsung DVD/CD-RW combo that, surprise surprise, worked
    nice at the first boot!
So, after all, I've sadly realized that my brain is still
Windows/dependant , because after a week of formatting
& reinstalling MOS, trying different configs,
it was only a stupid hw fault not a software problem! ;-)
Thanx to all for your precious suggestions, and after some more
try with my new drive, I'll finally register this nice piece
    of software named MAKECD.
Again thanx to all and ciao!

    Hi maurensen,

Glad it was the HW-issue, because I really didn't know what to do next if it had something to do with MakeCD and/or Ambient :-)

On the other hand, it's unfortunate that your drive is faulty. Do you know the cause why it did break?

    Bye,

    Aloha Spider!
No, I have no idea of what may be happened to my drive, but now, I remember some
strange issues that I tought could be caused by something wrong in my MOS config.
For example, when I ripped an audio track from a CD, randomly the wav files
resulted corrupted, or when I read some DVDs I had sometimes r/w errors...
Now, after 2 days of test of my new Samsung combo drive, I have no errors at
all and I am also able to read the DVDs that with previous drive seemed corrupted!
So now, with my new CDRW/DVD and also with my brand new Phlips Brilliance 17" monitor,
I can say that MOS REALLY ROCKS, and MOS community also!! :-)
Again thanx to Spider and to all the people spending their precious time answering
    other people's problems!
(uff, excuse again 4 my terrible english!!)

Does it read all region codes, btw?

I also have Samsung CDRW-DVD-combo, that's been re-flashed region free, and I always wondered, if mplayer would play all regions without regionfree flash... (AMP2 sure did on Amiga)
