I managed to get this game running yesterday but I can't get the sound to work. To get the game to run you have to define new video modes to support the 320x200, 320x400, and 640x480 video modes.
Has anyone managed to get the sound to work (without using a 3rd party sound card)?
On AmigaOS this no-sound-problem could be solved by installing AHI V4 instead of V5 because Adescent (and Abuse, too, if I remember right) uses a feature of AHI V4 wich is not longer present in V5.
I did not try this with MorphOS yet, but if you want to try it you probably have to rename ahi.library in mossys:libs directory and copy ahi.library V4 to libs: or to mossys:libs.
AFAIK, there is no ahi.library, You probably mean the ahi.device from MOSSYS:Devs directory... And I'm not really sure, if this would work at all, because I guess, that the MorphOS itself requires newer AHI, and so it wouldn't work together, but I might be wrong...
Oh, yeah, sorry. I did mean ahi.device, not ahi.library.
I dont know if MorphOS itself needs ahi.library V5... it would be worth a try if V4 works with the built-in Pegasos AC97 sound to see if this can solve the no-sound-problem of Adescent.
Don't do such silly things. I once started Descent1, but I cannot remember exactly anymore if sound has been working. Must check out my CD collection to find it again.
