At the bottom of those pages is a little picture of a printer. Clicking on it will create a "printer friendly" version of the text. Should take less ink to get it into your binder that way.

    Hello Velcro_SP,

    Isn't this possible with RunDOS?
Certainly a nice idea for people who don't want to spend a lot of time configuring and all :-)

I would like to do is run simple or oldish DOS games in a MorphOS window using a free version of DOS.

I tried FreeDOS on Bochs, installer seemed to crash always at the same point of installation...

Also, there seems to be problems with Win98lite installation on Bochs, if I ever manage to do that, I sure will tell you how, as it will speed up Win98 a LOT!

    Hi Robert,

    Thanks :-)

    As for your question:
With WinImage (pc program) you easily create an image file of that bootdisk.

Perhaps Targhan wants to host this image-file too, like in the Download-section? ;-)

For all of you who are lazy ( like me :-D ) or have no friends:

You can download a lot of different diskimages you can use with bochs here. Download the Linux DOS based images, no need to convert with WinImage.

First of all thanx to Spidey for his nice Tutorial!
After HOURS of installation, finally I have win95 and M$Office working... it's all a little bit slow but usable for my needs (Using excel and word) :-)
Now, I'd like to know if It's possible to share a file between Bochs and MOS, for example mounting the c.img in the amiga side, or sharing a directory with Bochs or... Any guess?
    Ciao.

    Hello maurensen,

    Thank you ;-)

If you've downloaded the Bochs GUI, you easily can mount your pc partitions:

Just press the M-button on the left.

    Hi Spidey,

I have installed Bochs and Windows98SE, following your guide, thanks so much for this great guide. I would like to say that the emulation is very slow but runs with no problems. However, the GUI is not working correctly and has some bugs that I have seen. Interestingly, the GUI insists on assigning my CDROM as a slave, despite I select it as master.

    Hi Leon,

I just tried my version and assigned my CD-ROM as master and the harddisk image-file as slave.
And I also get the notorious blue-screen-error while Windows is loading!
Putting the settings back (harddisk=master and CD-ROM=slave) and Windows starts loading again.

I don't think it's a GUI-problem. This GUI only let you change the settings more user-friendly.
    I think it's something from Boch itself....or so :-)

    Bye,

Thanx 4 the replay Spidey, but I think I
    wasn't so clear in my
previous post. My problem is that I must
access thru MOS to a file in
the c.img fake partition, or vice-versa
    accessing from BOCHS to an
amiga file system, NOT to an hardfile.
For example simpy I'd like to
copy an excel file resident in the c.img
and take it at work... Anyone
know how to help me please?
Ciao and thanks again a lot, Spidey!

    @maurensen

In the bochs gui you can mount your c.img file. Press om 'M' in the ata0 section of the bochs gui and your c: drive appears as a harddrive on the desktop. Now you can drag and drop files from and to your c: image.

Oeps. I didnt' notice that Spidey already answered this one. Oh well, never mind.

    BTW, Spidey nice tutorial!

That make my say "Only Amiga
(oops, Pegasos :-)) makes it possible!"

    Hi Spidey,

Thanx for explaining the functionality of my BochsGUI in your tutorial.

I realise the (M)ount button is a bit small and unexplained. Sadly i haven't been able to devellop
anything recently because of my job, sowwy :-(

The MOS native BochsGUI version is mostly finished for months now, but it bugs and crashes MOS for some reason, so i haven't released it yet.

I hope to find some time to fix this in the near future.

    Bye,
    Felix.

    Hi Felix,

You made a very handy piece of software and as a bonus it also installs FAT95 etc. And this is also handy for people who want to see their USB masstorage devices.

No need to say sorry, job's a priority! :-)

    Hello,

I saw, a few years ago there was a Bochs tutorial.
It looks really great, but the link to this section doesn't work anymore....

    spidey's bochs tutorial

Does anyone saved the information, or is there a way to get it back?
