Some time ago (a year ;-)) I ranted about the possibilities to use future versions of MorphOS on a multi-processor machine:

I don't feel like I got a good enough answer from anyone if this is possible or impossible, so I ask again! Any comments about this clueless little rant of mine?

    Hello,

No SMP support right now for MOS I guess.

I think SMP is planned only for QBox and not ABox.

Anyone have a clue about SMP? And how/where/when it will be implemented?

My "thesis" was that since the Abox in practice is a multithreaded Quark process(?), it (and all apps running "inside" Abox) could benefit from SMP once that is implemented in Quark, provided that quark is designed the "QNX" way in this aspect. This would work completely transparantly, without any need for hardcoding SMP support into applications, etc. The threads would be dynamically spread out on different processors and scheduled by quark itself, *outside* the Abox, meaning that Abox and its running applications (as well as any quark "native" components that in the future has been moved out from Abox into it's own quark memory protected space) would get the benefits from SMP without even knowing it. Or?

I'm not sure if I understood it correctly, but ABOX is a single quark task ? Therefore no use for smp here ?
