I tried out Mencoder for several hours now, reading all the tips and
faqs i could find, but i didn't find an answer yet.
Problem is the following:
I want to encode a DVD. It shall fit later on on two 800MB CDs,
therefore i need to create a Divx File which is around 1.6GB big.
After the 1st pass encoding i get a recommendation from Mencoder on
what bitrate to use for this. But whatever bitrate i choose, it looks
ugly in the end.
If i don't use a fixed bitrate but vqscale=x instead it leads to
pretty good results, but I can't really predict the final filesize.
Has anyone found out yet how to get both, a good encode with a fixed
filesize? I'd be very gratefull for answers!
