    Hello:

I have experienced since months and years too an insultating slowness on Facebook when using Wayfarer.Don't know what happens but for example when I try to load a notification,it loads on 5 or 6 minutes. Is very frustating to try to load something and even the red pointer doesn't change to click a notification or whatever. Is very frustrating.

Does anybody experienced similar behavior on your Amiga systems? I am doing something wrong or is this normal?

I think Wayfarer is a great browser but I don't know how it acts like this.

And I really need to use facebook the faster it is possible.

My Amiga is an AmigaOne X5000 if that serves for something

If you have any tips or tricks I will be grateful to you

From what i heard from Jaca it is problem with Garbage collector. It doesn't work well in singlecore enviroments. JIT won't help as GC/memory subsyste, will be even more flooded :(

I haven't used Facebook properly in a long time, but at least without logging in it's been quite fine still. Maybe there's heaviness in some specific features like those notifications...

Have you tried to use the mobile version of FB (m.facebook.com), it used to be faster than the desktop version at least?

No I haven'tused before on MorphOS but yes in AmigaOS 4.1 that is the one I used. And I tried now on MorphOS and is faster, but I prefer to use the bigger version.

Any idea how can I speed up Facebook?

It should be possible to speed up Facebook with User Scripts that cut unwanted features out. I don't personally use Facebook (and refuse to create an account), so I can't help with that, though.

Here are some general setup items to speed up Wayfarer ymmv...

    1. Turn on balanced for cache in Wayfarer.
    2. Use a proxy (been told this is the most notable improvement in speed).
    3. Use disk cache on the drives - in Morphos System.

    Enjoy.

OK but where can I find these options? I checked Wayferer adjustements but don't see any of them.

have you tried different agent (wayfarer, chrome, safari, etc) ?
    cache 512 disk
    no adblock
    audio/video : change option
all in prefs or better prefs:facebook in the menu

make a copy of morphos in another disk
    then
    hdconfig
    change bloc 512 to 2048
    format
    recopy morphos
(use withcleaner too but it delete your password of facebook etc)
i don t know if that help

Facebook is slow because it's script heavy and a lot is being obfuscated under layers. You'll feel it even on a slower PC like a tablet or a netbook.

There is literally nothing you can do.

    @man

Recommending to disable adblock? That's the single WORST thing you can do.

Use the mobile site where possible, period.
