    Hi,

don't have a Pegasos (yet), but some questions:

Does MorphOS provide a reset proof, bootable ram disk ? Can it use SFS filesystem ?

Is it possible to diskcopy an image of a harddisk partition to it ? E.g. on th fly using dev-handler:

    copy dev:hd0 to dev:myRAD

I haven't tried it, but that's a great question! I'll poke around and see if I can find an answer about the RAD...

    Unfortunately not :-(
The reset does reinit the ram.

Hmm, is it at least possible to "diskcopy" the content of a harddisk partition to a ram disk (with fixed size maybe) ?
Or would I have to copy all files (slow...) ?
    What about SFS support ?

Well, the speed of MorphOS is really high.
I see no sense in using ramdisk to speed things up ;-)

    But you could try DiskImage.
I've only tested it with iso images of cd's
(really handy when searching for older versions
    of command on MOS-CDs :-D)
but it should be able to handle a read/write-image which
you can copy to ramdisk on each bootup and then mount it.
Just make sure to copy it back before a reboot.

speed of PegII harddisk controller is close to the speed of fastram in a1200. I wouldn't bother with copying anything :)

I meant SFS as filesystem for the ram disk ?

I don't want to mirror the partition to a ram disk cause of speed issues. It's about noise. When viewing video or listening to music I don't want to have any background "sound" from the harddisk. On my Classic Amiga I currently use HDSleep.

For RAD it should be possible but not for the ram disk (RAM:).

DiskCopy for RAD should work as well if number of tracks etc are same.

Luckily I've got very quiet HD... ;-)

I already thought of that. And I want to try it with a small and cheap CF-Card. But bigger cards (512 MB and more) are still quite expensive...
