    Yop !

I wondered if any of you succeeded in using a VNC Server under MOS. I would often have to control my Pegasos from my work place, but it turns out those I tried from aminet (amivnc and another one I don't remember) are not working or just freezing up everything.

I think I read somewhere someone was working on some port to MOS.

I have Pegasos I, G3, Radeon 7000 (I also have Radeon 8500LE but I don't think it would better work with it, would it?).

    Thanks!

    @Doraemon

Are you running it under MOS?
If that's the case, what version you got and what is your graphic card?

    Thanks!

    I use it ftp://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/comm/tcp/AmiVNC.lha
    in a radeon 7000 card.
It runs fine but really slow.

Well, thanks for the direct link. I think I already tried it, but you have same GFX card I have, so I'll give it a try ... if it's so slow as you say, I should maybe try to lower screenmode, like if I put it to 256 colors intead of true color it should help a lot on the speed.

I'll keep you (or at least this thread!) informed of my results once I'm at it.

    Thanks,
    Fred

    Any news on this?
Would love to use MorphOS via VNC from my PocketPC.
Actually that would be a reason to buy a Peg2 for me, instead of a new pc and putting the old pc as a UAE-machine.

I'm using AmiVNC as well. With the -a option it is not that slow (same configuration as you have). However, there are some issues that prevent me from throwing away the second monitor and mouse/keyboard... Menus do not work well (actually not at all) and sometimes the key-up event seems not to get through to the peg, resulting in repeating the same key all over again.

However, as the sourcecode of the server is available it should be possible to fix this problems and have a working server. Maybe even a speedup of the screenrefresh could be done (using some compression algorithm to send less datas over network).

If I can use the PocketPCs touchscreen in paintprograms and use it as a remote for some simple control of mp3-playing, thats good enough.

Maybe I should buy a pegasos after thinking about it for almost a year? :-P
