    hi
i recently bought an ultra-cheap 4 button gamepad for usb - and it works. you will need the latest usb version, though, to properly map the button events to cursor keys or lowlevel.library joystick events.
the preferences program is a bit complicated yet very powerful. you can even start scripts on button hits!

    kind regards

Hi, serge. I tried to reply to your email
but your isp seems to be rejecting my mail
for some reason. So I will reply here
    instead. :)

I am using a GameCube to USB adaptor I
purchased at "RadioShack". Here is a
    link to the product description:

    RadioShack.com - GC Controller/USB Converter

All the buttons and the digital control pad
work good. Poseidon also recognizes the
analog sticks but the OS doesn't support
them yet. It's fine with any game/app
    using "lowlevel.library".

I have a "Saitek SP550 Pad and Stick Combo" here, and the pad works great. I haven't quite gotten into the docs to figure out how to set up the analogue stick to work, but there should be a way to make it send signals from Trident.

I have a PS2-USB adapter at home. I'll try it tomorrow. But reading other people's comments, I guess it may work :-)

Actually, I am thinking of buying one of those Logitech keyboards they sell here in Japan for playing Final Fantasy XI online, which comes with the keyboard and the gamepad incorporated.

I tried my USB RealShock 2 adapter (I bought in Japan), and a PS2 joypad works perfectly in my Peg2. From the Poseidon prefs, I can even get the values of the analog stick.

However, I don't have any game to try it! ;P

Would it be possible to use the analog stick to control the mouse pointer? Should I program it myself?

    See ya!

I Updated Poseidon and bought 2 saitek P220 Joypads 6 buttons. It's realy nice, my 2 PADs are detected by poseidon.

The first PAD works fine under MAME ans SNES9X from FAB.
My goal now is to use 2 PADs on some games like Street fighter under mame or SNES9X, but the second joyad is not reconized by mame nor SNES9X.
What about you? Is it an emulator issue or a lowlevel.library one?

    Thanks

These two emulators only support one joypad on port 1 in the current versions.

I already added 4 joypads support in mame, and i'll do the same for snes9x. So wait for the next version. :)

However, if you can't wait, just map one of the two joypads' buttons as keyboard rawkeys for the second player with poseidon. It should work.
