@ jPV - I believe jacadcaps now has the solution to this problem, that I learned from an email conversation we had overnight - though he will probably add more on here in due course to explain it in more detail - he may have actually gone for a bit of sleep !! Is that a first, 8-D but I can hear a gentle BUZZ-ing noise in the background, oh, that's the fridge !!

@ jPV - The image you linked to is like the ones I sent him, but I think he worked it out from the config/prefs files I sent.

This is Eruda. Not a full blown WebInspector but this one is instead snappy enough to be usable on even the slower configurations.

Wow, what a great browser. It’s the first time I have ever seen an Amiga like operating system browser actually display the HTML5 animation intro on DiscreetFX.com

    See for yourself.

Yes Wayfarer is displaying that in all its glory

@ jacadcaps - "Eruda. Not a full blown WebInspector ...]" - will you be able to build that into Wayfarer, or will it be a separate program that be run in conjunction with Wayfarer?

Yeah, it's in. I'm still tinkering with this though as it's not fully functional (plugins don't load - yet). On the good side, I've implemented this as user-scripts. That means that version 1.6 or 1.7 might be getting a full user scripts manager.

@ jacadcaps - I thought you said you weren't doing the Web-Inspector in Wayfarer - I'm not complaining, I just wasn't expecting it - more great news for us to come . . . fantastic work as always it seems.

Got my paycheck and felt a need to support the projects from one of our most visible contributors of both OS/SDK and application developments! Jacadcaps, I believe you will do magic (and you already have(!)) with both Iris e-mail client and the Wayfarer web browser. Your work this far has been fantastic, jacadcaps! My contribution of only CAD $25 may not make a big difference, but if everyone does the same, then these little contributions could add up to something nice!

So, if you who are reading this feels jacadcaps efforts are worthy some financial reward, please don't hesitate to send some CAD $25 or whatever you can afford and consider being worthy, now that payday made you all temporarily rich again! ;-)

Totally agree! I sent Jacek $30 or $40 just a week or so ago, to help support his tireless work on this browser, as well as his other work on MorphOS itself. We should however not forget Piru and the rest of the team, who's work has made this new browser possible. I should be sending some support money (from my tiny retirement income) to the rest of the MorphOS Dev. Team, but I can't remember if there is a donate link for the whole team or not? I'll have to take a look.

Edit: If all of the users just donated even $5 or 5 Euros, it would add up to a significant amount that might pay Jacek for a day or two, at reasonable programmer rates.

Edit 2: I can't stress enough what a great monetary value MorphOS has been. It would take the research of someone like A. Wolf to count all of the free updates, and every free software addition that has been added to MorphOS, since it first went to a commercial product status.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but I came across an issue last night when downloading the latest Chrysalis pack for my new G5 Quad.

When I tried it using Wayfarer it would get to various levels over 50% and then stop and crash the download. At first I thought it might be something to do with my new network card, but then I tried it with OWB and it ran faultlessly the first time with no issues. I also noticed that the transfer speeds were approximately double what they were with OWB.

I wasn't really bothered as I achieved what I wanted to achieve but I just wanted to highlight it as an area that might need some additional work at some point.

What does "crash the download" mean? Did the application crash?

    Sorry I wasn't very clear.

The download just stops part way through and the icon changes to indicate it hasn't been successful.

It was fine downloading smaller files, but the iso for the Chrysalis pack was a real struggle.

I just experience a freeze during a fresh session. I just launched Wayfarer, hit Settings/Browser and the system is now stuck.
Is there any Ctrl-C like shortcut i can use on Morphos to kill the application?

Couldn't do that, whole system was crashed. Restarted via power button.
    Now, something different.

Wayfarer gets reported as "Default Browser", but the user agent string is correct.
But there is no name provided, of course platform is unknown to all websites.

    i used

    whatismyip.net/tools/browser-check.php

I usually use "Chrome" as the default for my use of Wayfarer, though I sometimes use "Safari" as the User Agent, as Wayfarer is sometimes met with a blank page on some websites, as they "feel" more comfortable with browsers they are used to. 8-)

So, my advice would be to select one of those options and save that, and you should get good, fairly stable use from Wayfarer. I do get a few issues/crashes, from time to time - which I report via the Crash Report GUI or email so jacadcaps and the others working on Wayfarer can get the benefit of what might have caused it. :-)

I take it you are definitely running v1.5? :-?

My settings are the default, 'Wayfarer'. There is no apply or save button in the settings so i guess everything changed is saved always?

I will try to spoof but i think this is not a good idea because it hides our now prefered browser to the statistics.

I too would prefer to have "Wayfarer" as the default setting, and yes changes to settings are saved when you exit the Settings page AFAIK, from what I have found from my use of Wayfarer, but some websites will require a different User Agent (Spoof) than Wayfarer to function as it needs to. I suppose we have to accept that as fact, and be grateful we can still 'surf the web' in these current times, and hopefully for a little longer into the future thanks to those working on Wayfarer.

I wanted to thank here to everyone who submitted a bugreport using Wayfarer's built-in crash handler. Wayfarer 1.6 is now up with a ton of fixes thanks to all of you. If you want to complain about things that are not crashing, you can contact me by writing to wayfarer at wayfarer.icu. Any feedback is appreciated. This thread also works, but please don't expect me to notice if you complain on other forums. And last but not least, thank you for all the donations.
