    Hello,

I seem to be having a few issues with my new
Pegasos, so I've decided to ask about one of them
    here. :)

When I try to playback a DVD with MPlayer, I
    receive the following shell output:

    --------------------------------------------------
    MPlayer 0.91 (C) 2000-2003 MPlayer Team
PowerPC detected : It rocks !
Reading config file PROGDIR:conf/mplayer.conf: No such file or directory
    Creating config file: PROGDIR:conf/config
    Reading config file PROGDIR:conf/config
Reading PROGDIR:conf/codecs.conf: Can't open 'PROGDIR:conf/codecs.conf': No such file or directory
    Using built-in default codecs.conf
    Using timer.device for timing
Can't open input config file PROGDIR:conf/input.conf: No such file or directory
Can't open input config file PROGDIR:conf/input.conf: No such file or directory
Falling back on default (hardcoded) input config

    Playing DVD title 1
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.8 for DVD access
libdvdread: Could not open ide.device:3 with libdvdcss.
libdvdread: Can't open ide.device:3 for reading
    Couldn't open DVD device: ide.device:3

    Exiting... (End of file)
    -------------------------------------------------

Does this problem appear to be indicitive of an
    unsupported/nonworking DVD drive? I've tried
several options and even IDE channels with no
avail, also MPlayer seems to trash any custom
    config file in PROGDIR:conf/config.

    Any info is much appreciated,

I'm sorry but it looks like your DVD player doesnt work with Mplayer's decss decryption. I highly recommend getting an LG 8161b DVD Rom drive. It works excellent with morphos and mplayer. There is a a cool Samsung combo CDRW/DVD drive that works to afaik but I dont know the model number.
