I am unable access the quick quote option webpage of the Parcel2GO website - since they recently updated their site and obviously their code.

Where there should be visible boxes requesting Weight, Sizes, Postcodes, Destination, etc., there is no indication of this, which should be below the first paragraph on the quick-quote page.

I initially thought the site had gone off-line over the Christmas period, but this is not the case, as I have spoken to the staff there, and they assured me it was working, which using my Windows (reluctantly - but necessarily) I did, and made an order that way, which I cannot complete using OWB v1.23.

The staff there said that this matter would be passed to their tech staff when they return to work, but that there is nothing they can offer at this time, but that I will be recontacted by e-mail by their tech-staff when back, probably, after the New Year holidays.

Anyone else, run into any other websites that cannot be accessed by OWB v1.23, as it is just about (well it's really -> way beyond) past its use-by-date. ;-)

We need a new update, as I've run into other sites that I've already reported (direct to MorphOS team) that are not accessible as they are intended to be, and I don't just mean sites like YouTube, which I find personally only occasionally useful - for tutorials on taking hardware apart, etc..

(EDIT - UPDATE) - It appears the site was updated for the Christmas/Festive period, and in amongst that code, and festive imagery, seems to have been the Achilles heel of OWB, as the "normal" (non-festive) pages are now back available, and Parcel2Go is now useable again for we MorphOS users that want to use the site with OWB v1.23 - just thought you all ought to know.

So, we can all have a Happy Parcel2Go New Year. :bloons:

UPDATE - It appears I was wrong :-(

The Parcel2Go website appears to be accessible when you haven't Logged In, but once you do the pages are either blank or don't load correctly, so the order you are trying to make is impossible to complete with OWB v1.23 on MorphOS. I hope this is fixed with the update to OWB with the overdue/impending MorphOS v3.10, whenever that is going to be released. For me it can't come soon enough!

It seems that the useful life of OWB v1.23 has EXPIRED and is now passed it's Use-By-Date . . . . January 2018. That is at least with regards to Parcel2Go courier ordering site in the UK-GB, as the site is unuseable in real terms other than to view what you have had to make an order through some other Operating System such as Windows, Macintosh, etc., but sadly NOT using OWB within MorphOS. :-(

I already did that, tried v1.24 - no luck. :-(

I generally use v1.23 as I believe that is overall more reliable, and offers better security than v1.24 which was never part of the MorphOS v3.9 release, AFAIK

First of all load up the "Quick-Quote" page via Get a quick quote from Parcel2go courier website of Parcel2go without/before being logged in, you should see after the first paragraph titled "Get a Parcel Delivery Quote" a blue area with 5 input areas for data requesting information such as where you want to send the package from, and to, and for input of the package's weight and size. Below that blue border you should see 2 oval buttons, one with the words "Add Another Size", and the 2nd button "Quote & Book".

Then login to the site, if you are registered with them - then go back to the above mentioned page LINK - Quick Quote, and you will see the first paragraph as before "Get a Parcel Delivery Quote", but below that you will no longer see the blue area with the data input areas, or the 2 oval buttons, just the following paragraph titled "Delivering More Than Just Parcels"

If you try making an order using the quick quote before you login, you can obviously input the required data into those fields, and go to the next page "View All Services" where you can choose a particular service you want to opt for, that all goes OK, then the next page "Parcel Details" requests the details of who the package is from, and who it is to be sent to - again that all seems OK, but choose the on-page option to login to your account and the page goes blank, with the fees area then showing various brackets and words, where there used to be the selected service costs, and information you had selected or was shown as the total fee, or you don't need to login on that page, but just choose once you've completed all the required details on that page to click to move to the next page, which is the same as the top option as "Basket" and on that page you will be told you have to be logged in to proceed further, so you login, and then ... there's a blank page, no details to offer payment information, etc., so at some point using the "Quick-Quote" option, or any other courier service option to arrange a delivery, you will probably find you are stuck, and unable to make use of the service as OWB will not access the site as intended. :-(

So, you can be sure you can view your past order(s), if you have any, and view/edit your profile, but the all important use of the site is compromised, and makes it unuseable.

It works OK using even Windows XP and Firefox ESR, but there is no way for OWB to Get a quick quote from Parcel2go courier website as it does not work as it used to.

I hope I have explained this fully enough, but if someone else needs more information to understand this issue then just ask me.

I cannot access another Local Council (Bolton) site to manage my account with them, even when I SPOOF as Windows Internet Explorer v10 as that browser release is no longer supported thesedays, not withstanding the JavaScript will not work with the site:

OWB v1.23/4 really does need to be upgraded as it is rapidly becoming obsolete in this modern Internet https/security/JavaScript based world, it seems.

I have tested your links and viewed the contents of the logged in page and the logged off page.
There is a big difference between those two. And as mentioned above some of the code is
not executed by owb. Can't start it either.

Now, probably since Friday (6th April) or Saturday (7th April) even the ebay feedback pages, with the v3.10 release of OWB v1.24 (18-03-2018), cannot be accessed, so OWB is floundering quite badly now.

All you get to see is the main titled menu header/footer area, and in between a blank page, Oh! apart from a Left facing grey chevron, with no options for user input, be that radio button type events or text input, it's all pretty useless. :-(

    [EDIT - UPDATE]
I should also mention another observation, that v1.23 (MorphOS v3.9 release) actually works in the eBay feedback pages, all the text boxes, buttons, etc., are rendered correctly AFAIK. So it's just the v1.24 of OWB that was released with MorphOS v3.10 that is not working correctly for me. Anyone else any similar observations? :-?

If I'm correct then what's the point of having an updated port that doesn't work as well as the prior release by the MorphOS Team?

*NOTE* - I have noticed some artefacts, spurious characters in the AHI sound settings page as well, and I am wondering if by using the RegisterISO tool, the modified/updated v1.12 (released after the MorphOS v3.10 release), it has not only allowed me to inject the keyfile, but inadvertently re-arrange or mix-up some of the code in the ISO and cause some of these troubles I am currently experiencing, with sound, OWB, and the Printing system. Anyone able to check this issue out, such as Guido "Geit" Mersmann? :-?

OWB in 3.10 is based on the latest (unreleased) version what Fab has made. I think it's good that it came finally out for public, even if it's not that perfect anymore. It has the latest Webkit engine we have and also includes fixes from other sources (AROS) which enables Google logins again. So, I think it's a justified release.

The unfortunate thing is that Webkit JS engine in it has some bugs, which makes older engines working better nowadays with certain pages. So we're (again) in the situation, that we have to use different browser (versions) for different pages. We have to use OWB 1.23 for Google Maps, but use OWB 1.24 from 3.10 for Google Mail, etc.

There are many reasons why we are in this situation:
    1) These issues are because of the Webkit engine which "we" haven't coded, but just ported. It's quite impossible to fix how individual pages work in it.
    2) Fab isn't around to keep the browser and engine up-to-date.
    3) MorphOS Team doesn't seem to have resources and time to do the work either.
    4) Even if someone would have knowledge and time (regarding 2 or 3), that doesn't help much, because the engine can't be updated that easily anymore, because Webkit authors have stopped supporting big-endian architectures and someone should invent a totally new solution.

I think our best hope is to have someone/team to find a new engine for our browser. There have been some initiatives and I think we should support them. We should do this as a cooperation between all our platforms (MorphOS, AROS. OS4).

As Fab hasn't left the scene but "only" lacks time, maybe he could comment whether he thinks it wil be probable that he will have more time again in the (near) future or if this will rather not be the case.

On a side note: I observed the issue with 3.10 that Odyssey's network channels/connections often run dead/stay blocked. increasing number of channels helps to some extend, but it wasn't before...

I don't know what has been done to OWB v1.24 with MorphOS v3.10, but it won't access the login page of F1 motor racing anymore. I have to use v1.23 to be able to login, and if I use v1.24 then I cannot even get to see the race programme, or download it, as the area just doesn't load onto the respective webpage.

Something "bad" must have been done to this release of OWB v1.24 to make it this incompatible, IMHO. :-(

Spoofing doesn't have any beneficial effect., sadly. :-(

OWB v1.24 with MorphOS v3.10 is overall only a backward step . . . even compared to v1.23 with MorphOS 3.9 which also has its own limitations, as it too is past its "use-by-date".

You have not read my more detailed instructions on the Parcel2Go website, and it not working with OWB v1.2x.

I can get to that page without any issues, but if you try to go further you get to a point where the person you are trying to send an item to only generates a blank page, and then you are stuck.

If you login, if you have an account like I do, then that causes other more profound incompatibilities with the P2G website earlier on than that.

I am not making this up, these failings are genuine, and very, very frustrating. :-(
