    Hi guys,

Recently v1.01 was released and I'm wondering whether it's possible to release new port of this? Last port I'm aware is for release v90.80. Lots of bugs fixed, lot's of new cool features were implemented since 2008.

I know MilkyTracker is now SDL2-based and SDL2 is not fully ported yet (not sure whether it's an issue for MilkyTracker port), but maybe someone could hear this voice and would consider implementation. Or at least I could get know what are the challenges related to this.

    Thanks!

I know CMake was released for OS4. Would publishing its source code help building a port for MorphOS?

Well, someone told me the MorphOS Team already made a CMake port.
So I was compiling MT by hand but four files didn't work...

Well, I compiled the last version, it was much work without CMake.
But nothing happens, no screen is opening. Sorry, SDL2 is still beta.

Over at EAB, Marlon_ made a MorphOS test build available of his MilkyTracker V1.01 port for Vampire and 060.

He's asking for feedback, so do try and let him know :-)

I ran it (MorphOS Test Build - Milky Tracker v1.01), but when I stopped the .mod as it was playing, well tried to using the STOP button, nothing happened, so I clicked the Play button and the .mod just went all 'weird-sounding' - "wailed like an old cat" !!! then the program hung for a moment, then it exited.

Second time I ran it I loaded the same sample, and then clicked on the About button, which after a few moments of nothing happening then loaded, but on clicking on the logo it didn't exit, and so none of the main buttons were visible, and the instrument buttons were inactive, so I pressed 'Esc' and the .mod went all weird sounding again, and soon after that the requester to exit/quit popped onto the screen, so I clicked on it which worked and exited the program, but I don't think it exited cleanly.

I'll take a look at the log tool later and see if there's anything in it that be of use to Marlon @ EAB - and then pass him feedback.

Hi! And thanks for testing. I had a go at it myself on MorphOS on my PowerMac G4 Sawtooth. It looked rather horrible in fullscreen mode, but looked like it should in windowed mode. Some of the things you are mentioning didn't happen to me, however I didn't try the sound. As didn't have any speakers to plug in for the moment.

I think the problems stem from SDL-1.2 that I did my own compile of, based on this repo: https://github.com/amigaports/libsdl12

But if SDL2 is available for MorphOS, I can easily tweak my compile process to use this instead.

Latest binaries can be obtained here:

Tested correclty under MorphOS 3.9 with 6 different mods (5 mods with 4 channels and 1 mod with 28 channels) all working great so far! No issue btw like the ones described by NewSense up above. All buttons working. Many thanks for your efforts :)

    Sweet! =)

I will however try to compile for SDL-2 and get fullscreen working properly! :)

Works fine with a quick try. Loaded couple of mods, edited and played otherwise around a bit, and saved without problems. Thanks!

Though loading and saving the config seems bugged (problem with paths according to Snoopium) ;-)

I'll have a look at that. Should be an easy fix.

Screenshots would be very helpful, as window mode works fine on my G4 Sawtooth Mac with MorphOS 3.9 (fresh install), fullscreen is definitely bugged.

Milkytracker will not run on EFIKA properly!
Milkytracker is loading but the content of the window "blinks" during fading in and won't stop (its like a stroboscope). Strange thing: you can load modules and play them!
Maybe the reason is the fading-routine...

For me it works very well, it's just amazing on my powerbook , thanks for this release.

Just one thing to know, Milkytracker slow down when using high resolutions. 800x600 seems to be great on my pbook.

Fullscreen don't work for me too but i prefer using this version which is less buggy.

Problems only occurs on EFIKA - not on G5, Mini or Peg2. But screenresolution is not changeable on all systems, because milkyracker.config-file is ignored.

My graphic glitches are due to execute Milkytracker with a 16bit color resolution, with 24bit never occurs.
