Hippoplayer source code and keyfile has been released on Aminet. Is it possible to compile it for MorphOS?

I'd say it's a "no". One would be probably better off writing his own version of Hip from scratch than messing around in somebody elses 68k ASM code (much like Krashan did with DigiBooster).

It's a clear 'no' as m68k ASM source code isn't compilable into PPC machine code.

However, MorphOS runs m68k machine code just fine provided it's "system friendly" enough... ;-)

But I agree with koszer on this one...

Hippoplayer is CIA dependent, even if you manage to compile in in its current state, it won't run on a non-classic MorphOS system (at least my Powerbook is complaining about missing CIA timers).

If you want to play some MOD files on MorphOS, UADE still does its job.

This translates m68k ASM into PPC ASM. It doesn't compile m68k ASM into PPC machine code.

And DAPlayer too. I actually have forgotten this one... it's a bit unfinished, but it is system friendly and has a MUI GUI, playlist, can be integrated to Ambient by its command line options etc. I'll probably make it my main player when double clicking mods.
