Who can tell me why songplayer crashes system?
It`s connect to ide.device unit 2. I have not
any dosdriver for CD0.

Hi !

SongPlayer sends a wrong/bad command to the ide.device. It makes it
crash.

This bugs is fixed in SP internal beta.
SongPlayer 1.62 release is not very far now.

I recently found out you need this in order to play audio cd's. Can anyone tell me which programs will work with this? Meaning which progs I can use to play audio cd's when Songplayer is installed. I like to put this info on my site to for other users.

MorphOS should play audio cd's out of the box. Period.

kaya should be able to play them they should implement that into kaya

about kaya, it's already implemented in last internal beta :)

same problem with IDe, but works fine with SCSI CD Drive :)

I agree. Kaya is really great. And again, please in a next version of MorphOS have it play audio cd's out of the box. Just the other day I wanted to play a cd from my girlfriend on it and to my shame it did not work. The words (from my girlfriend)..But Windows does.. is bad to hear then.

Note we have adviced about the non working CDDA support for IDE devices with SongPlayer 1.60.
The next release is in betatest, all major changes planned are done now.

I use OptyCDPlayer for CD playback.

Porting some open source CD player (like RexxCD) wouldn't be a bad idea either, I looked at the sources quite some time ago, it sure would need quite a lot work, especially user interface could be improved a LOT... But at least arexx-support is the best I've seen...
