O.k. all those weird colors made it (allmost) impossible to see that the partition wasn't flagged as bootable, so much about that.

The colors did dissapear after selecting a new screenmode manully and doing a reboot ....

keropi : try to delete poseidon.prefs in env-archive. Then reboot and try again your inboard USB.

Grats for the release, very good news. Sadly $230 is a bit high for me for a system that I use to just have fun with. I will try the Demo when I get home early August from Afghanistan, but I am nit sure if my budget will allow for me to make such a purchase, and having two machine I want it on its not going to happen for both for sure.

Stay safe bro.....my Peg II is safely in someone elses hands..but I can't play at that price either....considering an Efika anyway ;)

    hello senex,

It seems I have the same problem on my PEG2.
I boot on my morphos 1.4.5 (because the morphos 2.0 does'nt boot well, freeze at QuarkFirmware)
When morphos 1.4.5 is loaded, I put the morphos 2 CD, then I try to launch iwizard and I have an Ambient mini alert : No Hexview yet for morphosBoot:/tools/IWizard

Have you solved this ? any idea ? Difficult to pay a licence if it's not working and after the 15/07 it will be more expensive.

    @ shakenfr:

after I inserted the MOS 2.0 cd with MOS 1.4.5 booted, did the same: I tried to launch an application directly from CD and that's doesn't work (or prompted the same error message). I think it's only possible booting from CD... but I cannot suggest any help to avoid freezing... :-(

    @ all:

I still can't use Gigabit port.. :) My firmware is showed 1.1 although I updated 3 or 4 months ago. Is it the right one? I don't think so....:) Well, I'm going on searching ;)

    >2.0 is loaded. In early startup menu there is no CD in
    >the list and boot with no startup-sequence shows no CD
    >with shell command "info".

    Problem solved!
I copied the new 2.0 boot.img from CD to HDs boot partition.
Inserted CD and entered "boot ide:0 boot.img".
This way MorphOS 2.0 is loaded from CD and problem with lost second ide channel gone!

I get random lockups and freezes with MOS 2.0 on Efika 5200 (registered). After I installed the key file, I noticed an improvement in stability. Still, some window operations cause the system to freeze.

As a workaround, I disabled the dragging and resizing with full window contents options and enabled the maximize on title bar click option in IControl.
(this won't help with freezes during scrolling, however)

When I double-click on a dock icon, the machine freezes sometimes (freezes always in the Efika installer).

Was GCC used to compile MOS 2.0? If so, which version?

Downloaded and installed OK on my Pegasos II. Set up screen mode OK on my Samsung 22" LCD monitor. (screen size 1680 x 1050)

One strange problem though, when I connect to a 2-way KVM switch, MorphOS boots to a 640 x 480 screen size, with a Monitor 31kHz. If I disconnect the KVM switch and connect the monitor, mouse and keyboard directly to the Pegasos, it boots up to the normal (1680x1050) display!

    Any ideas?

It appears that has nothing to do with MOS. Your KVM switch must route data received from the monitor back to the graphics card. Otherwise, the graphics card cannot detect the monitor type (modern VGA is bi-directional).

I was configuring Sputnik button for fast links, changing from one to two rows for displayimg them... Apps crashed with the message "application meditating..." closed, a prompt showed a problem with curl.library and falloc library that program couldn't find. Checked, are there. Reset MOS and I tried to start Sputnik again... Nothing happened... Taskmanager shows the application name in red with a label "frozen".
Ok, I'll try to find a solution...
Oh, guys: I installed the MUI classes to launch Tubexx. TheBar.mcc creates some problems to SimpleMail bar buttons: not allows the transparency of button icons. I don't know if that happens only here.. the only I know I erased class SimpleMail toolbar goes again. So don't Tubexx..
Sometimes when I insert a CD or DVD, no icon is displayed on screen although, if you double clck on My MorphOS icon you can see the icon in the opened window... Then extracting the CD or DVD and inserting it again, the icon is displayed... :-?
Last minute: checked again Sputnik... it doesn't work anymore...

I solved the problem... in a classical way: erased the entire Sputnik folder than re-installed (copied) from MOS 2.0 CD.
Now, it works again (I'm writing with it).
Way frozened? I've really no idea! Maybe playing to much with fastlinks button and clicking could... Oh, I can't imagine. :-?
    Now works! OK..

Shocker! The same USB stick that worked with MorphOS 1.4.5 doesn't work with my MorphOS 2.0 demo clean install. Trident says:

    Quote:

    SET_ADDRESS failed: response timeout (6)
    Device enumeration failed, sorry.

I don't have internet access at home, can this be Trident failing to connect somewhere? I can copy the license file that I have in Poseidon 3.0 in my 1.4.5 setup.
If I restart all drivers in Trident, then two popups come up, sayng hello and goodbye to my USB stick, but it's still unrecognized.

It's strange.. The same thing is happened to me.I'm trying to understand the reason because my Linux partitions are in a second HD (slave)
that I didn't touch in any way... But, it doesn't stop here: if I type the command to boot MOS 2.0 when I am in Firmware, that's all right.
Boot without problems. I typed the same in Bootmenu (boot hd:1 boot.img 3D ramdebug [my MOS 2.0 is in the first HD, second partition]) and
I receive an "error during load or boot" message! Type the command again and it goes...!! ?-)
Could it be the Firmware version? I downloaded the last I've found in Bplane website (up 050404 - 20040405......) but the initial welcome display 1.1 version not 1.2..
I assume that I have to mail Bplan...

I'm using MLdonkey: it seems to work well, but if you do another thing (write this thread, for example:-) or listening to some music) stop any activity...
    At least, I downloaded a song..... :-)

Well, I don't know why but it's so: trying to boot different configs with "Bootmenu" ganerates only errors.
Typing boot commands make system boots with no problems.
I typed in SmartFirmware the command to boot Debian and it started regularly.
The only thing that doesn't go is trying to boot MOS 1.4.5 I placed on the second HD, in the sixth partition.
I used the template "BootDevice" but nothing to do... I tried direct boot from ther (I have the boot.img in the same partition) but it's the same.

Minor issue on Efika (assuming not an efika issue) with a USB KVM.. When using the KVM I noticed that sometimes the efika hangs when switching between systems. I think this may actually be a poseidon problem since pressing the KVM button is the equivalent of pulling out the USB keyboard and mouse and then plugging it back in. It only happens approximately 2 out 10 times and the only solution is to power-cycle the efika..

    Hi,

Usually we italians use pc105_i_new keymap definition file (you can find it at http://alfie.altervista.org/_altervista_ht/pc105_i_new ). It is the only italian keymap definition file that has the very exact disposition of the keys of an italian pc keyboard.

It would be very kind to have this working again...

Your link does not work. The keymap was created by me and can be found here.

In the manuals there is also a complete layout that could be used as a reference by MorphOS programmers.

Until now I had no time to check if it is still usable on MorphOS 2.0. If not, I will try to regenerate the keymap.

Euro symbol doesn't appear in all fonts I have: only Sans and Times New Roman display it.
    In the right position, obviously...
