Calendar and local folders are on the todo list, but both are no small task.

Ooh! - and now for something quite revealing . . . something off the To-Do list ! 8-)

I'm no fan of cloud services - I don't like the idea of "giving" to others to look after (and never reveal or use in whatever way they want to, i.e. advertising/personal or commercial gain, highly unlikely . . . not really), so that's a non-starter for me !

    Version 0.125 is now out!

    - Improved spellchecking functionality: when re-opening a draft for editing and on language changes, the whole document will immediately be checked for errors. Language changes are no longer global
    - Implemented settings for reply/forward subject header (Re/Fwd)
    - Prefix subjects with 'Fwd' when forwarding / forwarding as attachment
    - Tweaked not to rely on OpenURL when clicking into mailto: links in displayed emails
    - Improved email reader and writer context menus
    - Fixed a rare crash when forwarding emails
    - Fixed an issue with BOM byte when converting between string encodings
    - Added an optional 2nd language selector for spell checking
    - Improved HTML markup code of emails

Right click on the message and use Forward as Attachment... then you get attached the original message with the attachments inside too.

    Hmmm, thanks.
I can only speak for myself: I would prefer that forwarding a mail means always also forwarding the attachements. Deleting them is much more easy than to attach it manually.

I have had an issue on 2 occasions where if I create an email with attachments it will not send them. They don't appear in sent mail and if I log into the email web client it never happened.

Any ideas what to test and look for?

    Take care,

    Matt

Interesting! It would help if you could run Iris from shell with TRACE argument and grab the system log after attempting to send an email with such attachments. Send me the logs.

    Sure, I will!

I also just notice many emails aren't being sent even without attachments. I did hit the test for the send area in accounts and it passes. If I send and email with the web client it will show up in the sent in Iris.

I will run the trace and let you know!

Thanks again for all the hard work, your efforts have made MOS much more usable for day to day work!

    Matt

Stupid question (sorry, haven't found anything on your website about it):

What/where exactly is Iris searching if I enter something in the corresponding field...?
Does it search the message, or the header or the mail address?

Because: If I am looking for a key word within a mail, it is not found...

    Thanks!

    Iris 0.128 is now available!

    - Updated to OpenSSL3
    - Fixed Yahoo OAuth2 account setup
    - Recompiled to fix a bug with longcalls in GCC, which caused it to miscompile the code in some cases leading to crashes
    - Better sanitization, duplicate address removal when in Reply All

After about 5 years of development, the first non-beta release of Iris is now available for download!

Iris is the most advanced and modern mail client among all of the clients available on MorphOS and Amiga. It's the only client to support OAuth2 for GMail, Yahoo and Outlook. It's the only client to support full html viewing and editing of emails, thanks to the inclusion of a stripped down WebKit. Iris is the application that has sparked off countless innovations in other parts of the OS, including adding ObjectiveC support and Unicode support into MUI.

Getting to the 1.0 version would not have been possible without the support of all of the betatesters, translators and users who either donated to the project or sent me bugreports and logs. I would also like to single out Christoph Poelzl of https://rms-communications.ch for all of his contributions and pushing me to add features to meet his business use cases. Iris would not have been what it is now without your input. Thank you!

There's still a long TODO for Iris, so keep looking out for future updates.

This is brilliant Jacadcaps and thank you.

I've tried today to get my Microsoft 365 email account to work with it though with no success. Not sure what I am doing wrong, it appears to pick up the sending information from Microsoft but there is something wrong with the port or socket on the receiving side.

I've tried finding the settings in Outlook on my PC but it seems to have been really dumbed down so you can't easily find that kind of information.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Yes - I pick the Outlook option each time and it takes me through to Microsoft and I enter my password there and everything seems fine. However, when I go into the settings afterwards there is no information entered into the Receiving section and when I test it I get the following error appear (after entering my password on the Microsoft website again);

    Authentication test:Failure!
connection_error - Error while connecting socket

You likely need to configure SMTP by hand to make it work. smtp.office365.com, port 587

    Thanks. That does seem to have moved things on but now I am getting the following authentication error;

    Authentication test: Failure!
    OAuth2failure

But this is only on the receiving side, the sending side seems fine and the authentication test passes.
