I don't get why these aren't working here, but are working for others? I am using a G5, could that have anything to do with it? I've changed nothing lately, not even using ultimate pack anymore just a fresh 3.4 install with newest OWB and scripts.

And are these scripts added in scripts manager window?

    Absolutely...

Just tried it on my powerbook*, still just getting a black square with a white 'play' triangle, download will only produce an empty videoplayback file.

    OWB 1.23
    Youtube.js 0.92
    YouTube_EZDownload.js 0.4.8

*3rd system I've tested it on.

You're one an old version BTW.

I've just tried with 0.91 version of youtube.js. Still the same. Black with the white play symbol.

Some do work with HTML5 (either version of youtube.js)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfNLtUUEiGI

for example. Just randomly clicking on links at youtube gets about 1 in 5 work.

That's strange! By clicking to "18" you call definitly the html5...... I think your installation is wrong...... i suggest to install OWB new from scratch.....

These youtube links doesn't work at my system, either. In the case "18" I am getting only a white screen instead of video playback. (edited: it's not reproducible) there is no videoplayback.

You also need to add youtube_fullscreen_fix. It's important, not only for fullscreen, but also when clicking links on the right side, else the other scripts don't get reloaded because youtube now uses js instead of reloading, which would prevent youtube from working if the video is not available in HTML5 mode.

At the people who don't have these youtube links working... Show the message window contents, see what it says. In any case, i still suspect a configuration issue there.

You could also take a screenshot of the odyssey window, so that i see which player is actually used (builtin html5 or flash element).

But your logs indicate there's no issue on OWB side: the video stream url is clearly shown and loaded by the mediaplayer... You could even paste it in the url string or in mplayer to check it... The issue is most likely on the actual server providing the video files (which can change depending on country/zone). Sometimes they serve empty data, and just reloading fixes it. It can't be helped if youtube sucks... :)

Which indicates the issue is not on Odyssey's site. If the direct link returns empty data, there's not much i can do about it, unfortunately. You're probably unlucky with the youtube mirrors you connect to, or it's some kind of blacklisting/filtering from their side.

I dunno about those videos specifically, but a lot of HTML5 videos not working for me either. Some do, but probably the majority don't.

Also the floating mac on http://www.morphos.de doesn't seem to work on the newest OWB, maybe it's just my system, but it did work before.

    Try Youtube Centre.

(EDIT: Download the script from the dropbox link on the page referenced above - clicking on the 'source code' tab of this page seems to send Odyssey into some codeset-related loop.)

Youtube Centre is a richly-featured, and highly configurable Youtube-html5 interface which works unaltered on OWB, and replaces both youtube.js and youtube_ezdownload.js. (Download buttons are integrated into page below video)

Fullscreenfix script is still required for fullscreen though.

It also works with Vevo vids and Vimeo, and so far I haven't found a Youtube video I can't play with it.

    Enjoy.

    For reference, to install:
Download the script (or copy/paste into an ed window and save) as sys:applications/OWB/scripts/YoutubeCentre.js
Launch Odyssey, open scripts window (RMB>Windows>Scripts).
Add YoutubeCentre.js and remove/deactivate youtube.js and youtube_ezdownload.js (gadgets at bottom left of window).
Restart the browser (or at least create new tabs).
    Profit.

Just for the record, i just updated youtube.js. It should now handle Youtube links with encrypted signature (like VEVO ones, for instance).

I'll have a look at this youtube centre, too.
