No, you don't have to update the SANA II drivers.

Which version of AmiTCP are you using?
If it is 4.0 demo then you are going to have to edit some script files. In the installer choose ethernet and the first ethernet device(a2065 I think) don't worry that this is not the right device, you edit the config files later.
Say yes to adding assigns, and no to start at boot.

Ok, edit the file 'AmiTCP: db/interfaces and add the line:

vrhine DEV=DEV:Networks/via_rhinepci.device

Edit the file 'AmiTCP:bin/startnet' and change the 'a2065' in the line that starts with 'AmiTCP:bin/ifconfig' to vrhine.
Next change the line:
AmiTCP:bin/route add 192.168.0.100 localhost
^ insert your ip address
To
AmiTCP:bin/route add 192.168.0.100 -interface vrhine

Now edit the file 'AmiTCP:db/hosts' and add the ip address and host names of the computers on your network.
That should do it. reboot and in a shell type 'startnet'

Old versions of amitcp don't support DHCP...but
I imagine the new version appearing in 1.5(?)
should.

It has to support DHCP, or I have no way to go online

I got AmiTcp demo4 from aminet. It said something about dynamic addressing but I found no way after the configuration to get a dyn IP.
