I guess you could play it on MACOSX ?

Anyhow the more people nag for it, the more funny it is to hold it's release ;-)

On second thought, let's not return to Castle Wolfenstein. It is a silly place

    Hey Magnetic,

I can relate, I asked about it a little over a year ago and wished everyone a Merry Christmas...

    History being repeated...

    Merry Christmas!

Hey did anyone hear that Return to castle wolfenstein is being ported to MorphOS?

    :-?

Yes, RTCW has been ported to MorphOS, it is running fine on my Pegasos II, with an average framerate of 30 at a resolution of 1280x1024. But I have absolutely no idea why that delay in making it officially public. It had been shown in public in Bad Bramstedt in early November 2010.

This must be a really great game to have so many people get angry about it not being released and jealous of the few people that are running a beta release of it, because they were in the right place at the right time to get a copy from the porting author. Not being much of a gamer, I don't know this game, and never get too excited about any release of any game, but to each their own.

Perhaps the porting programmer is not yet satisfied with his work and that is the only reason he has not released it yet, I don't know. Or maybe he is just too busy with the holidays and other projects to take the time to upload it to one of the MorphOS software hosting sites, where everyone else could get it from.

Of course it could be that he is just enjoying the whining he is reading from those that want it so bad. Who knows? But the complaints don't seem to be working, so I would suggest trying some other tactic to entice the porting author to finally release his work.

Seems the 'pizza delivery' tactic didn't work either ;-)

I don't know. I've got a copy of it for my PC and I remember it looked good, but it was about as disappointing as Doom3 when it came to gameplay.

Anyway, if it ever gets released I've got a CD in case there's something needed from the original CD to run the MOS port.

Hey, what about Quake 3 Arena? I have that andf its a much more playable game.

Jim ... that's already ported for almost 2 years I think:

    http://morphos-files.net/download/Quake_III

Still I really like ww2 games like the the early Medal Of Honour games on the PSX and PS2.. So I wouldn't mind having Wolfenstein to play with.

Very cool. i'm going to download this and install it. Personally I think its a better game than Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

And being born only fifteen years after the end of WWII I am so tired of the subject (something I'm sure our German comrades can understand). Personally, I've always admired the Geman people and their engineering prowess.
I don't think I need another game where I run around shooting Germans.

Actually, it was initially ported to MorphOS half a decade ago:

    https://morph.zone/modules/news/article.php?storyid=897

Two years ago was a bugfix and optimization release:

I can't help it they made good games with this subject... Anyway, I did play a lot of Quake 1 and 2 back in the days and recently Resistance on PS3 ... it's about gaming in the first place.

Click on "bribed" to know the answer. (Seems DoctorMorbius_FP and me are not the only ones with the strange OWB behaviour here on MZ starting with OWB v1.11.)

I must be doing something wrong. I've moved all the Q3 files to the Work volume, I've got 73.3GBs of space, but whern I attempt to install it I get a message stating "You need about 500MB free storage to install to "Work"" and I also get an installer message "bin/q3freechk: Unknown command".

I thought I followed the readme instructions.
Any idea what I might have over looked?

you seem to insist a lot about it, have you tried to contact him directly or through the mailing list ?

I suppose he's waiting to bundle it with the new 3D drivers or something ?
