    In case you missed it (as i did yet) direct your browser to http://fabportnawak.free.fr/mplayer/MPlayer-1.0-svn-2010.11.11.lha
    One question though: Is Fab never sleeping or idle?

    Good question. He even finds the time to assist kas1e in porting his marvellous OWB to OS4:

    http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=32847&forum=32&start=80#591862

    Btw, phoenixkonsole seems to imply that Fab's recent MPlayer release is connected to requirements of AMC (German):

    But I don't know if that's true though ;-)

    Thanks Fab!!

    History (morphos specific):
    ---------------------------

    10.12.2010
    - Updated to 11.11.2010 svn (r32620)
    - GUI module:
    - Open subtitle requester now uses the current movie directory.
    - Display chapter list for any media supporting it, and not only for DVD streams.
    - "Add" button in playlist now allows to choose between file/directory/stream/playlist types.
    - Added a popstring history to net stream requester.
    - Filter out GMPlayer project icon from WBArgs to avoid confusing playlist remember option.
    - Fixed mf:// input that got broken somehow.
    - Bugfixes in cgx_overlay driver about ratio preservation after
    fullscreen toggling.

    This release is unrelated to AMC, actually. If AMC requires more than what was asked already in another thread (which was already implemented since several years in the morphos version), i'm not aware of it. :)

    Length 1:02:20
    format lavfpref
    video codec ffh264
    video bitrate 1839kbps
    resolution 720x400
    frames p/sec 29.97
    Aspect 1.80

    audio bitrate n/a

    What? Too much for my 1.5 mini?? :-D :-D :-D

    BTW MorphOS Files has it too. Clicking on "local mirror" usually provides a bit higher download speed :-).

    The audio stream is just not detected/supported in this case (which is of course not a morphos-specific issue). Any link to that video?

    then the video should play with sound then? It plays fine on mplayer on ubuntu
    I guess I could try the previous version of mplayer port, but I'd have to d/l again. No Link, It was the Beyonce recent tour I acquired on mp4 format, which apparently was on ABC-USA.

    It just means mplayer guys broke something in current svn revision, then. If you had r32620 on Ubuntu, it would behave the same.
    To be noted it *doesn't* happen for any kind of mp4 file, far from it.

    Thanks for the link Z!

    @Fab,

    Latest build seems to hang for a second every few minutes on some standard def material (avi:ffodivx@996kbps/mp3@128kbps).

    Arguements are:

    Quote:

    run >NIL: fu:bar/mplayer -gui 1 %sp -vo cgx_overlay_gui::TINYBORDER -fs

    Environment is MorphOS 2.7, Mac-mini G4, 1366*768*24-bit, enhanced screen enabled.

    Rolling back to "version 1.0 (20/7/2010)" of MPlayer resolved the issue (tested with the same files).

    Regards

    Rich

    [EDIT - I may have forgotten to update my cache settings in the config file for the new version - I'll try the new release again and see if it resolves the problem]

    Cache shouldn't even be needed for files, unless you have a particularly slow access, anyway (smbfs?). In any case, it's not really related to MPlayer itself.

    Just a crap 1.5TB USB hard drive which has the click of death: caching ~50MB (~6 minutes of playback) for files smooths out the bumps in the road :-)

    I'll give the newer version another try - the problem is undoubtedly something I've messed up, else others would be having the same issue.

    So i looked at your file. Somehow, the sample format requirement is different now and requests a sample format not handled by the mplayer ahi driver (for this particular AAC example, many other still play just fine).

    Anyway, you can still play it by adding -af format=s16be (or af=format=s16be in conf/config).

    How to make MPlayer GUI always open all movies default in 16/9 resolution?
    I hate when I always must select 16/9 from menu, and again after switching window/full screen.
    Thank you.

    @Condor:

    edit "config" file in "conf" directory and add "monitoraspect=16:9" to have 16:9 display by default.
    Give an eye to "example.conf" file in the same directory for other settings examples.

    I wonder why you want that, actually. MPlayer honours the video ratio, and the video output uses it.

    So, unless your video files are encoded with a bad ratio, forcing the ratio shouldn't be needed at all.

    Well, I was try that before I post here and nothing changes. Again MPlayer play movies in 4/3 format.

    @Fab

    I have lots of cartoons in 4/3 format and I wanna play them in full screen without black border. Better stretched playback then black sides on my 16/9 LG TV. ;-)

    Ok, but then they will appear streched. I wouldn't like it too much. Wouldn't you prefer fullscreen with cropped picture on top and bottom? It's also doable with MPlayer with a few parameters (zoom+crop, or maybe even pan/scan, i'll check that).

    For cartoons (and some movies), streched playback is not problem for me.
    I really like full screen playback without black sides when I select 16/9 from menu.
    Maybe there is some switch/line/command for adding in config file to make MPlayer use this menu command as default?
    I asking for that, if is possible ofcourse, and thank You Fab for help and your awesome MPlayer.

    Regards,

    I guess I'll never understand why people prefer distorted shapes over natural shapes ;-)

    I prefer fullscreen over reduced one, distorted shape is only minor "adventage" ;-)
