    Hi All,

Do I need 3d accel for the picasso modes to work in e-uae?

using PB G4, but e-uae only shows default Amiga monitors/resolutions.

    Thx

    No.

Which E-UAE executable do you run? More there:

    Hi,

Im using the version in the Ultimate pack 0.8.29-WIP4..
I tried on my Mac Mini which is 3d accelerated, the default e-uae shows no picasso modes either , BUT the e-uae.sdl does..
but e-use.sdl wont work on the PB G4 due to no 3d accl at the moment.

    Puzzled?!@#$ lol..

Yes, that's the correct behaviour according to the posting I linked to.

How did you arrive at the conclusion that the missing 3D support is the reason? I fail to see why P96 screenmodes should rely on 3D support.

I think he's talking about e-uae.sdl itself, which might rely on 3D-support.

Well, if it does that would certainly be news to me, besides still not making sense to me that is. There might be problems with PowerSDL on PowerBooks but that's nothing to do with 3D, I believe.

Well, I was thinking 3D in a sense that it might use GL for scaling. But that was just guessing on my part, and it's more likely that the bug in PowerSDL itself might be the cause.

    Hi All,

Yeah, without any other systems to test on and the actual error.

    "System:Emulators/E-UAE> e-uae.sdl
    E-UAE 0.8.29-WIP4
    Build date: Mar 28 2007 19:33:20
SDLGFX: initialization failed - Found no sufficiently capable CGX visuals
    System:Emulators/E-UAE>"

Might be a PowerSDL problem with the PB G4 or just the R3xx series card.
I only assumed a 3D problem due to the fact none is available for the R3xx series. (yet)

Yes, and "CGX" means 2D. A 3D problem would usually contain something about TinyGL or Rave3D.

    > or just the R3xx series card.

According to itix' statement, it's not about the GPU type but about the PowerBook's display. Other supported systems with R3xx GPU (eMac from 2005, PowerMac with replacement graphics card) won't show this problem.

Try to make some 'fake' resolution other than the native one and see if it helps.

I tried an 800x600 'virtual' res, but stil lthe same error, I suppose I'll have to wait patiently for the 3D driver to come out and see if that fixes the display info/problem :)

Will stick with Pal/DBLPal Hires for now :)
    Thx All..

You can't be disabused of that connection, it seems ;-)
