I downloaded and instelled AmiNet Radio, but at least to someone with me with just rookie knowledge of MorphOS 3.0, I haven't been able to figure out how to use it yet. The readme files (at least the ones I have) only decribe the menus.
Do I need to download other modules? Where can I find a user's guide?

    > it only define the menu buttons.

Definitely not true. The main structure of this manual is as follows:

Legal mush - The bit still nobody reads.
Introduction - What it does and why you want it.
Requirements - What you need to buy to run this.
Installation & Usage - Digital radio for dummies.
FAQ - Stuff not to ask us in #AmigaZeux or we kill you!
    History - Years ago stuff.
Credits - Who to ego-worship for this amazing product!
Contact - Contact us and be horrified.
Future - I see a tall, dark, handsome stranger...

"Requirements" and "Installation" do sound like they might have what you're looking for.

I'm sorry to be a pain in the neck, but that section doesn't tell you how to use the program. It assumes you have previously used it, which unfortunately for me, that's not the case.

Sorry, I thought you were having trouble getting the program to run. My bad for misunderstanding what you said.

    > It assumes you have previously used it

Does it? I can't see where exactly. It's concise, yet tells everything you need to know to be able to use the program. Sorry that I can't be of help for you.

What do you need assistance in doing? Maybe we can help with more specific questions.

You wont really hurt anything.. put a few audio files on your harddrive and mess around really.

mplayer is rather capable for media files too. Jukebox is super straight forward if you just want to just play some tracks.

I'd like to stream live music from the Internet, from stations around the world. Could you please point me in the right direction?

    Ok here goes...

    AmiNetRadio

    From Windows > Playlist Editor

Click [New] on the lower left of the Playlist editor window that is now presented.

    * A requester will pop up. Here you can put in a name of the station in the "Name" field

*You will then notice your chosen station (or playlist name that you want to create) show up in the left-hand pane. Ensure that the new "Stations" playlist is highlighted, and then hold down <right click>.........

    * You will be presented with Titles menu - From this menu, select "Add Titles" submenu, and then finally, the "Add URL..." selection from that sub menu.

    * Within this requester that you are presented with, simply give the station a name - such as BBC, Soma FM, etc. and then put in the station streaming URL. Such as <cough> http://173.236.41.19:80 <shameless plug>

    * Now just <double - click> the station that you just entered within Playlist Title pane and it should connect to the stream.

    MPlayer

    :) Easy

    1) Load up GUI-Mplayer

    2) Project>Open Stream

    3) Enter stream url - such as... http://173.236.41.19:80

    4) Press the play button (you may have to wait a moment for the cache/buffering)

    bah-da-boom

I hope that helps get you started.

***Edit***Oh and one quick thing, make sure you [SAVE] you playlist entries before you exit AmiNetradio :)

@Debaser, Thank you very much for your help. Those intsruction were easy to follow and it worked just fine. BTW, good music selection in that sample URL you gave me. Any other recommendations for adult contemporary music?

Instructions like those are nowhere in the info available with the AmiNet Radio download. Thanks again. It's great to have fellow MorphOS users like you helping us, the rookie ones. 8-) :bloons:

Hey no problem I am glad I could help.

As far as finding more stations
    http://www.shoutcast.com/
    www.streamfinder.com

(you may have to poke around to get the actual steam url or d/l the .pls file - many times they try to get you to use the web-based player, etc)

I never could wrap my head around "adult contemporary" music to be honest. So I would just google it or use streamfinder.com,etc. I am sure you will find plenty.

I haven't been able to find more URL's which can be streamed in AmiNet Radio. Is anybody else willing to share some working URL's?

    > Is anybody else willing to share some working URL's?

A quick Google search revealed the following sites (among countless others) that are willing to share URLs:

    http://www.listenlive.eu/ac.html
    http://www.listenlive.eu/hotac.html
    http://www.canadianwebradio.com/adult-contemporary.html
    http://www.canadianwebradio.com/hot-ac.html
    http://www.usliveradio.com
    http://www.australianliveradio.com
    http://www.nzradioguide.co.nz

Those sites' contents may not be very up to date (except the European one, i.e. first two links), so chances are that some or even many URLs don't work anymore.

Just go to http://grunch.geit.de and download the tool.
    Drag it onto you harddrive.
    Run it.
Wait until it updated all related databases.
Use the menu to open search and type Aminetradio.

    Select Aminetradio and press install.
Select any module/plugin and press install.

Once you are done select Aminetradio again and use the context menu to open the aminet radio drawer and launch it.

To deinstall start Grunch, select AminetRadio, press uninstall, confirm and done.

Regarding the streaming stuff. The servers changed, the new ones need licences fees. I suggest to use mplayer and any link you can find on the internet. Just visit the related radio sites, download the playlist file and load it into mplayer.
