    Hello,

i am using ICE FS 2.3 since a few weeks now with work partition.
The IDe harddisk is connected to to internal IDE controller of my Peagsos 2.
Since a few days ice fs reports the follwing error when starting simple mail:

LLIO read failed [ide.device:0] byte $61774A000 length $8000 errorcode 45

    My setup:
    ID: 0x49434502
    blocksize: 4096
    buffer : 128
    max transfer: 0x7fffffff
    mask: 0xffffffff
    size: 46 GB

    any ideas what's going wrong?
    regards

Don't know anything about your error, but just to say there's a new RC version:

    http://www.blubbedev.net/pipermail/icefs_blubbedev.net/2011-April/000068.html

    Maybe this helps?

"LLIO read failed [ide.device:0] byte $61774A000 length $8000 errorcode 45"

What happens when you press [retry] in the requester ?
If fs continues with no problems then try
    http://blubbedev.net/temp/icefs204rc2.lha which allows
setting environment variable to make fs automatically retry
these errors without putting up requesters. Seems this is what
    SFS does.

I just discovered the icefs2.4 rc1 does not support this option, as
was documented, will upload the rc2 shortly, must give it some testing first though.

    ICE_AUTORETRYIO
    - Set it to 1..n for number of automatic retries of failed
io requests, before putting up a requester. Will not come
into effect until 3 seconds after FS is started. Default
    is 0 automatic retries.

Try setting it to 1 first, and see if that helps.
    setenv save ICE_AUTORETRYIO 1
    ..and reboot.

    Selecting "Retry" works.
I will wait for rc2 and have a try it after installing it.

    I installed version 2.4rc2,.
Everything seems to be ok so far.
    ICE_AUTORETRYIO is set to 1.
If ithere are any further io errors in future, i will report them.

    Thx for this quick fix!

Right, I'm having a bit of a trouble with ICEFS 2.6 and ice doctor 1.0

    Grab-1.png

    It keeps coming up.

If I run Icedoctor I get:

    08/07/2011 [19:37:23] --- Complete scan of DH1:

    Done.

Cleaning up master extent list.. 14510

    It then

    says something like

    rebuilding free linkage 27568
    152 free rebuilt
    Done

    rebuilding reuse linkage 1140

At which point it freezes and does nothing, does not respond to reboot.

It's done that the couple of times I tried it, different number each time.

Oopsie, I managed to fix it, well reformatting the hard drive anyway, it seemed to be the 12,000 odd files in Yam inbox it didn't seem to like.

Sorry, I know I should have waited, but..

Small point, but the first line in the readme file says IceDoctor 1.0 (2011.05.17), not 1.1.

I will test it, but IceDoctor 1.0 didn't find any problems with the reformated drive, which wasn't a suprise.
