Anybody know what happened to this valuable resource? It appears to have been down for a few days and I really want to get some software, like os4emu, any idea of another resource that might have up-to-date versions? (Aminets is from 2006)

I've been told it's some issue with the domain changing IPs.

But as it's hosted on the same server as mz.org you can still access it by clicking "downloads" from the top of this site.

Hmmn is Downloads here the same site? There doesn't seem to be as much on it, os4emu for example? Unless I'm being blind!

In fact, it is not. It is just well integrated and accessed via different domain name, which has been already redirected. About "morphos-files.net" domain, I'm in contact with the domain owner and he will redirect it ASAP (or maybe he has done it already).

The domain works here already, may take some time to propagate through the DNS tree.

There is another resource: MorphOS Software Database ~ 1400 programs, demos and games. It's database of MorphOS compatible software, it means MorphOS native software and also AmigaOS 68k/PPC software which runs on MorphOS. Latest version of os4emu could be found and downloaded from this site aswell :)

morphos-files.net works now, but doesn't have os4emu download link anyway.

OS4Emu has been removed from MorphOS Files, because it has been proven that OS4Emu degrades the system stability and is the reason of system crashes. I prefer to not host such dangerous software on the site.

Then you should delete other software as well...

It wasn't meant as a joke, and a quick glance through the recent uploads discover those "substandards" I was writing about.

bullshit, only loadseg version degrades stability, normal os4emu doesn't

Well, I guess if somebody is using OS4emu like me (that is: turn the PatchLoadSegOS4 only when I need some OS4 app and that's not very often) then this stability issue is not so important.

Hmm... Bacically I wrote the same thing as zukow, however there is some difference :)

Because of what zukow said I recommend to *not* use PatchLoadSegOS4 if you want to run only "some OS4 app" but rather to run it via OS4Emu command.

    1. OS4Emu won't be hosted on MorphOS Files and this is a decision for this single file, discussed with its author.
    2. For other programs I do no "censorship" based on their stability (except if it crashes permanently at start and/or is totally unusable, in such a case I send a bugraport to the author). If you consider some software a crap, you may discuss it on MorphZone or anywhere else.

Why remove it? Sounds like it emulates OS4 perfectly...

    @Krashan:

Of course it's your decision, so there's no need to argue about it anymore. But that doesn't mean that your arguments in this case aren't somehow flawed.

    EDIT: Typo fixed

My feelings do not matter. You just can't please everyone. There are always some complaining, whatever you do. I've simply learnt to pass over.

I was more referring to the fact that analogkid actually said your arguments were *not* flawed ;-)

You have indeed. It's alway mildly amusing when people say the opposite of what they mean to say. Happens more often than one might think though.
