I have installed DirOpus 5.
Everything is working well and expect to use it a lot instead of Ambient.
I am having one issue:
When I select a background the dopus5 config screen locks up, which can be killed and continue to use dopus 5.
I converted the jpg into an iff and it still locks up.
I used a very small picture thinking it was a size issue but still the same.
I think there might be some os 3.1 library missing or something like that.
Any ideas?

I don't have experience with running DOpus5 on MorphOS, but have you set up which screen is to be used by DOpus5 as its default background screen? Just a guess on my part to give you another place to check for a fix.

It could be a missing OS3.1 file that is needed as you have guessed. Let us know how you get it fixed. There are probably other users here that will have more experience with DOpus that can help you.
