IFX generally loads most images as 24 bit. so, if you are starting from scratch in IFX to make a GIF, you will start out with a 24 bit image - do whatever imaging you need to do there and when you are all done -
THEN convert to CMAP. start at 256 colors if it looks like there's some complexity to your pic. then you can save it as a gif. and if you want transparencey know what color register the transparent color is supposed to be. although the GIF saver has a "FIND" thing which seems to work ok. at least for me.
maybe i should write a How-To for those new to this.
